I loved the supporting characters more than the MCs. Lena was just straight up annoying. Ethan's voice was a little too feminine. The overall setting was interesting but borderline offensive to those who live in the south/boonies (I.e. myself) Overall, I'm not into it enough to want to complete the series. Maybe seeing the movie will change my mind?

I am just starting this book, want to get it done before i see the movie. So far I like but I am only 3 chapters in. Not much exciting has gone done yet.

I was hooked after the first paragraph. I still remember it. I was just addicted. And I was like so eager to keep devouring more pages and more pages. Since it was so big I felt like I would never run out, but then I did....
Angie wrote: "I am surprised how long this book is... are the other books in the series just as long?"About. Yep. I was the bookstore and they looked just as chunky. Though I like me a chunky book once in a while. ;)
These books are amazing, # 2 was my least favorite and struggled getting through it a little bit, but the next 2 made up for that. Amma and Link are my favorite characters instead of Ethan and Lena.

I can't wait for the movie, however, the book's ending was not satisfying- but I am withholding my verdict until I read the complete series.
I heard that a movie was coming out of the book so i read the whole series so i would be able to see the movie. I loved the first book and became hooked on the series. I love Ethan and am very jealous of Lena ( for many reasons) . I love the whole magical part of the book and how they tied this into the towns civil war history.

I haven't started reading it yet, but i plan to this month and then go see the movie with my best friend. Its kind of like a best friend book club lol. I have only heard good things about this book so far so I am very excited to read it! I also love that makeup palette.
I've only read a little bit, but I'm liking it so far. The writing flows really nicely, so it's easy to get lost in the book.

I just recently purchased Beautiful Creatures and am looking forward to getting started with the fun and discussion. I am also looking forward to the coming movie, but wanted to read the book first :)
Loved this book!! The relationship between Lena and Ethan is so exciting! The love, near-death kissing, the social problems of a town, the collision of two worlds, the chance of losing each other, and the family issues!! All of this wrapped up in a book! Can these things get better! All of the emotions in here love, death, saddens, happiness, grief, madness, and most of all anger. This book was so drawing that I felt the emotions that the character was going through. (Wow that sounds weird out loud).
Definitely would recommend this book to other people!
I live in TX and maybe its because my town isn't really small but the book's Southern Charm was lost upon me. I found it to be somewhat cheesy and over the top at times.
However the book was interesting enough to finish so that's something and I'm really looking forward to seeing the town come to life on the big screen.
I started and am about 30% through the book so far. My kindle needed to be charged and I admit I got sidetracked by another series. So far I am plugging along, finding it a bit slow, but am enjoying it. I have been told it picks up and am looking forward to getting to the meat of the story.

Hope you get it finished!!
Hope you get it finished!!
Really liked this first book, a little slower paced than I had expected but I enjoyed all the detail written in about the town, buildings, and characters.
Angie wrote: "I agree... book first THEN movie!"That's the way I normally do, but I'm starting to think about going about it the otherway so I can enjoy both. I always get so mad at the movie for changing the book.
