GETTING TO KNOW YOU! :)

I'm quite pleased that my mum mainly fights with my brother now, because I seriously hated it when she was getting shitty with me! It's like you're damned if you do and you're damned if yo don't.
Moving out definitely helps! Although then you get the guilt trips over how you don't call often enough, or visit often enough. ugh.
O.o I'm sorry to hear that you guys. I have a wonderful mom although that might be more because my dad died when I was young so it's just her now. >.>
Nah, she is not a clingy mom. When I was in England, we would go for weeks without calling. We just have different opinions on how and what to do, as well as when it should be done, and that is hurting our relationship

My mum has definitely mellowed with age, but I still maintain that the scariest thing I have ever done in my life is tell my mum that i was pregnant. That alone is enough to put me off having more kids!

my mum is very much - it's her way, or the wrong way. it's frustrating.

I dunno, I'm kinda finding the opposite with mine... She is a very DIY person, and she is finding she can't do that as much as she'd like to, and I absolutely hate that kind of stuff

Mine is like that as well. Last week, I was cutting some strawberries for dessert, and she said I was using the wrong knife for that

O.o
my mum is still upset that all three of us kids eat with our forks in our right hand instead of our left. she won't let us set the table with the forks on the right because apparently that's just wrong.
Sarah wrote: "my mum is still upset that all three of us kids eat with our forks in our right hand instead of our left. she won't let us set the table with the forks on the right because apparently that's just w..."Don't most people typically hold their fork in their right hand? I mean you use your dominant hand to do that right?
In terms of etiquette, the 'correct' thing would be to hold the fork with the left hand and the knife with the right hand. But what difference does it actually make? None, in my opinion
Tati wrote: "In terms of etiquette, the 'correct' thing would be to hold the fork with the left hand and the knife with the right hand. But what difference does it actually make? My etiquette is always correct then. :P
Tati wrote: "Well, I'm left-handed, so that works for me too"Lefties! I'm a lefty too. ^-^ Did you know we show handeness as soon as in the womb? Oh and men are more likely to be left handed then women?
Really? I didn't know that!I've already said that, when I have my own house, everything will be for left-handed people, like knives, scissors and the like
Yes, etiquette wisse you're supposed to hold your fork in your left hand. I always argue that I don't want to bring something sharp towards my face with my non-dominant hand.

Yeah here is the link where I found that out and some more about lefties:

But do you know how to tell if you're left hemisphere or right hemisphere dominant?
If you are right handed, you tend to be left hemisphere dominant - the left side of your brain controls you body. If you are left handed, it's not always straight-forward. If you curve your hand above the words when you are writing though, mimicing how right-handed people write - like this

then you are left-hemisphere dominant, if you hold it like this instead, keeping your hand below the words -

then you are right-hemisphere dominant, which is a lot rarer ☺
Sorry, that's quite random ☺

I'm somewhat both. I wrote like the first one for some of grade school cause otherwise I got the smudge us lefties get when writing with pencil. But then I figured out how to write and not get smudged so I write like the second one now. But I also have NVLD which effects my writing as well. ^-^
I always write like the second picture, which means I can't use those gel pens, as they smudge something awful
Tati wrote: "I always write like the second picture, which means I can't use those gel pens, as they smudge something awful"Me either although sometimes I can get around that if I really want/need to. It's also one of the reasons I either use pencils (they are easier to wash off then pen) or type.
my Kindle is almost like one of those mythological monsters: I read one book and five new books appear
Tati wrote: "my Kindle is almost like one of those mythological monsters: I read one book and five new books appear"You mean the hydra? lol. Your kindle is a hydra. :P
I've only read one books this week although it was a whopper. So I have a higher books added to books read ratio then usual. I've probably added about 25 to 50 books this week which is about usual.
I've been avoiding those humongous books, because of the challenge, though I have a few of those to read
Tati wrote: "I've been avoiding those humongous books, because of the challenge, though I have a few of those to read"I joined a Just For Fun team for this challenge so I was able to relax and just enjoy reading whatever. But I'm on a serious team for the hangman challenge so I'm going to have to more careful next week. :P
I'm going to play just for fun in September, as I'll be abroad, playing the tourist, and also because I need a break from the serious playing LOL
Tati wrote: "In terms of etiquette, the 'correct' thing would be to hold the fork with the left hand and the knife with the right hand. But what difference does it actually make? Tati wrote: "I'm going to play just for fun in September, as I'll be abroad, playing the tourist, and also because I need a break from the serious playing LOL"True true. You've been in 'beast mode' reading the last few months right? You deserve a break. ^-^
Samia wrote: "Tati wrote: "In terms of etiquette, the 'correct' thing would be to hold the fork with the left hand and the knife with the right hand. But what difference does it actually make? Probably because we live in a right handed world so we have to adjust a lot. I find handshakes to be the most problematic strangely. lol. :P
Yeah, I've been reading a book a day for the last couple months (Jumanji and then Minesweeper), and that is too much for me, I was reading a book every two or three days
I'm right handed, but if I write with my left hand like the first picture (so it's mimicing my right) I can write left handed ☺
Tati wrote: "Yeah, I've been reading a book a day for the last couple months (Jumanji and then Minesweeper), and that is too much for me, I was reading a book every two or three days"I use to read like that but I've found since I left school and have little to no stress now I don't read nearly as often. Back in the days (lol) I could have set my goal as high as 500 maybe even 750. Now I'm just getting squeaking in about 100. >.>
Sarah wrote: "I'm right handed, but if I write with my left hand like the first picture (so it's mimicing my right) I can write left handed ☺"O.o I think that rare as well! Well at least you wouldn't be helpless if you broke you're right hand or something! ^-^
Sarah wrote: "ha ha! At least you can use a kindle one handed ☺"True. Kinda one fingured if you can rest it on your lap. The joys of technology. ^-^
Oh I misunderstood the question. I thought I was like a riddle! Lol. I can play the Clarinet fairly well. The Piano, Guitar, Flute, and Djembe okay but not very proficiently. Oh and I payed the recorder when I was younger.
