My sister-in-law is not talking to our mother-in-law. Hasn't spoken to her since last september, and we don't know why!
Sarah wrote: "My sister-in-law is not talking to our mother-in-law. Hasn't spoken to her since last september, and we don't know why!"god, I hate those non-verbal wars! And it's even worse when everyone lives within walking distance, which we do! After that scene, everyone is either pissed or sad. and the worst part is, since the quarrel was with another brother's fiancee, now everyone is teaming up and discussing who has how many flaws! -_-
Lindsey, that is soo annoying! I don't know why everyone thinks reading is a childhood hobby and a lame one too! When I was younger, I was considered a freak in my mom's family because I read so much! They couldn't understand how someone can love reading! Gah!
As someone who's on the other side of the fence, I try not to judge. I haven't spoken to my father in 8 years. There are several reasons for that. To make a long story short, he broke my trust in so many ways that I found it was easier to break the relationship than to keep getting hurt.I don't know what happened in those cases, but I reckon that for mother and daughter to not talk to each other for such a long time, it's because something serious has happened. In some cases, it's just pettiness. But in other cases, there are deeper and greater issues.

It sounds like you have reasons though. This girl is just a total jeckel and hide, one day you're in her good books, and the next she hates you. I was in trouble for wearing a black dress to her wedding. apparently black is appropriate wedding attire. nuts.

WOW, everyone seems to have a bad experience with Sister in laws. I got along with my older one fine, I can't say the same for the second one. I tend to avoid her like a plague!
Jora wrote: "I don't have any problems with my sister in law. We get along great."huh, you're the lucky one!
@Tati, sad to hear that you're not talking to your father. Even sadder to learn he broke your trust. I hope someday, you'll be able to trust him again.
@sarah, and...icing on the cake, the quarrel was about a tissue box! somebody kill me now!! :O >_<
I've had my nieces running wild for 3 hours today, seriously puts me off having more kids! They're crazy!
I never thought I'd see a day (after I became adult, that is) when I liked a teen vogue article, but this is quite great. http://www.teenvogue.com/story/islam-...
I'm glad to be a part of a predominantly Muslim country, but the comments in various blog posts (and other things) are just outrageous!
That was pretty interesting!I know next to nothing about Islam, but I do know not to make assumptions like the one in the article.

thanks for that, but unfortunately that happens. I think that happens more face to face, but I have had people thinking me a terrorist just because I'm muslim. I have also been asked how I'd feel sharing my husband with another woman when I'm married. I was so dumbstruck when I was asked that! It's true muslim men can marry upto 4 women, but that requires extraordinary circumstances and anyway, the wives have to be treated absolutely equally (even in sexual matters). I don't think that is really possible by a mere human being!

Even if I don't agree with a religion i try to make a point not to just attack people over it. And I hate when people make crazy acucations based on what someone is wearing or looks like.
I have loads of questions about Islam, but they come out of curiosity, as I'm very unfamiliar with it (you don't see many Muslims in Brazil). I have the same curiosity towards Jews, Hindus, Buddhists...
That moment when you get a shot in your rear end and can't take the band aid off because she put it out of reach!
Heather wrote: "That moment when you get a shot in your rear end and can't take the band aid off because she put it out of reach! "O.o I've never had that happen. lol. Must suck though. >.<
My mind just boggled again trying to figure out where one might not be able to reach on their butt. Don't know if I want to think of that though. lol. :P
Heather wrote: "Lol if it helps I have short arms!!"Ah. lol. I'm fairly flexible so even though I'm short in general I can reach near about anywhere! lol.

Yikes. I know how you feel. I got a mole removed on my back. Had to have my mom help me while it was healing.

Yeah the back is the trickiest place for most of us I think. ^-^
I have been reading at Starbucks for the last few hours and just looked up and noticed that I was the only one here besides the three who are working. Got a little distracted by my books.
Anyone else have big plans for the MMC? I'm gonna try and join 2-3 GBRs and try to finish the Bookish Blocks as well, which means at least 25 books. I won't be home for the first 9-10 days, so it might be a problem since I don't read too much when I'm at my parents. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone wanted to team up for the mmc? To support each other and help each other out finding books or buddy reading if we have the same books planned..
i had my monthly test today. it was tough. i just want to lie on my bed with a blanket, eat lots of ice cream and read books till i forget about the question paper.:(

I've done a few buddy reads, but never for a book I was really excited about so I'm hoping I kind find a lot of fellow YA fans in this group to buddy read with. That's the most random thing I could come up with right now. lol
So, am i the only one who grew up in a house where you were weard if you didn't like to read a lot. The only time i had a problem with reading too much was with a teacher of all people. Acused me of not paying attention and doing my class work early just to read. Needless to say, i didn't exactly get along with that teacher.
Laying in the hospital bed looking like a zombie and I have a killer headache!!! These wires have got to go!
