I think mine is on it's last legs as well. doesn't help that every time i shut it down and then switch it on again it tries to download every book I have ever read. no wonder it has a headache!

message 5804: by Tati (new)

Tati Sarah, I figured out what was wrong with it, so I'm no longer living in fear of it dying on me (for now, at least).

I had to reset it (it froze), and then didn't realize I had to fix the date, which messed up the displaying of the books by most recent

My kindle did that the other week too because my internet was playing up. It went back to 1am on January 1st 2000! Took ages for the "Please verify that your device is registered" thing on the main page to go as well. Really annoying.

Okay, so this is the review I wrote for this book 2 years ago - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

and now the author has sent me a coupon for a copy of the second book... should I give it a chance? Me from July 2013 says no, obviously!

message 5807: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Maybe you will enjoy it more two years later :)

message 5808: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Sarah, I don't think I would. You obviously disliked it for a reason.

I don't know what to do. I obviously hated the first one!

message 5810: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments That's why I wouldn't do it if it were me. I mean, the second one could be great, but at the same time I'm sure you have loads of books you're more interested in reading.

I personally hate spending time reading a book that I don't think I'm going to enjoy when there are tons that I think I would like more. But if it's short then I guess it wouldn't be too much time invested.

message 5811: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
That's the problem, its more than twice the length of the first one, if its awful, there are a lot of pages to get through.

message 5812: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I want to but some books, I just can to decide on any except for one. All I know is that it has to be ya/na contemporary or dystopia/scifi... Anyone with suggestions?

message 5813: by Tati (new)

Tati Today is one of those days where I just want to go home early...

message 5814: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments How long until you get to go Tati?

Ugh, I feel like a bad person. The proper thing to do when you find out someone's pregnant is to congratulate them, right? Yeah...all I can think is why isn't it me?! ...And I'm not even trying to get pregnant. Sigh. I guess I'm kind of jealous?

message 5815: by Tati (new)

Tati Still have three hours to go...

I was like that when I was pregnant. the girl who lived across the road from me was 20 weeks further on than me, and when she bought her baby home in the may I just cried ☹

Just think of all the sleepless nights, and poop explosions, and tamtrums in shops, and it kind of puts you off a bit!

I liked Sister Assassin (Sister Assassin, #1) by Kiersten White Taken (Taken, #1) by Erin Bowman Every Little Piece (Second Chances, #1) by Kate Ashton Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis

have you read any of those?

Ugh. I wanna say that's soonish, but when you just wanna go home three hours feels like forever :/ Hopefully you'll be somewhat busy so that time'll go by faster :)

But that's the thing... It doesn't scare me off at all. I'm more like bring it on! You know what I mean lol (I really need emojis now!) I guess it's kind of normal to feel like that though... But it certainly doesn't help that my family's all like "when are the kids coming huh?" Jeez.... :D

I wasn't sure how i felt when my friend got pregnant again. now she has 2 boys keeping her up at night though, and poo explosions, and even though the baby is cute, it reminds me why i said i was only having one.

I think it's harder when you haven't got any yet though! When my first friend had a baby, it was like a switch got flipped, and I really wanted one!

message 5820: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I'm sure you're right about that! :) When I was a kid I didn't want any, then I wanted 11(!) Then I got older and wanted 4. I'm not sure if 4 is a good idea lol! :)

message 5821: by Jora Jordan (new)

I wanted six, until I realised how bad the one we had was. Not sleeping for more than 20 minutes at a time for 13 months really puts kids in perspective. Even my mum isn't sure if she'd cope with me having a second like him!

Send some of that rain to California please. We need it.

I usually go for a mystery or a YA book.
