Dakota Franklin (dakotafranklin) | 306 comments Looking back on my first year as a published writer, 2012, I published four books, which between them appeared on more than thirty bestseller lists, won an award for Best Novel, and were pleasingly well-reviewed. Thank you to everyone for buying, reading, reviewing my books.

Next I'd like to be rich as well as famous.

Happy New Year, everyone!

To paraphrase Colin Chapman: "Being a writer, retaining your dignity, getting rich, choose any two."

Daniel Roberts (Daniel-A-Roberts) | 467 comments If it helps any, I read somewhere, a long time ago before I published anything, that Stephen King didn't make his first million until he was writing for around 7 years.

Don't know if it's accurate or not, but it's what I heard. From my own experiences, I'm having a hard time doubting it. ^_^
