That settles it then....I'm starting War and Peace. I have a version on my nook....but I need to check the translation. I want the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation. That's the translation I read of Anna and I loved it. I'd pay for that translation.

I finished another book on my list last night. It was a fast one....just fluff. I'm ready for something more challenging!

Sounds good. I'll start Anna tonight or tomorrow. I'm bored to death by the 4th GoT book, but I haven't really sat down and tried to read it for an extended period of time. :)

I have the Maude translation of Anna Karenina. I wasn't sure which one to get...

Ummm, I have the B&N classics one. Is there a better one? I'd get any!

When I was looking on Barnes and Noble for which one to buy for the Nook, most of the reviews pointed to the Maude version, so I got that one. I don't really know what the differences are... It seems like people like the Maude translations b/c Tolstoy actually helped with those... I have not read any other version though, so I had to rely on what others had to say!

I don't think that I have an e-version yet, and since I want it on my Nook, maybe I'll grab that one! :)

For you guys reading Anna....here is a link

http://www.oprah.com/oprahsbookclub/Y...

to the Oprah website about reading Anna. I read that book along with Oprah while I was prego with the girls. I found it really helpful.

AND....since you guys are reading Anna or thinking about it soon...I'll start War and Peace....starting....TODAY.

As for Anna....I really loved the Pevear and Volokhovsky (sp.) translation and it's gotten rave reviews. I'm going to read their translation of War and Peace too. Just sayin.'

Ohhh Pam, that's the translation of War and Peace that I have! It's too bad that I'm a year behind you on W&P!

I've heard good things about the Maude translation too! Since I read the P&V version of Anna....I think I'll stick to that one for now. I'm imagining reading both again in the future...since I love Anna and I'm sure I'll love W & P as everyone else does. I just got the P & V version on my nook even though I had a different translation already. I've also found a good reading group guide from Vintage books that looks great and I've set myself up for a schedule that should get me DONE with the book at the end of the summer. I'm really excited about this you guys!

AND.....we need to talk seriously about going somewhere as a group in July. Even Juan has been talking about this. I think he is researching how much it would be for us to RENT a big camper for a week or 2 this summer. If we can swing it, MAYBE we can plan a trip to the Black Hills for some indian rez and monument looking or to St. Louis and do a Mark Twain trip/ Mississippi River thingy.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT for us all. Sonja and Sammi and Jen and I and the kids....ONE big camper....2-3 tents for the kids (plus...I might have a teenager willing to come along to help with the kids).

What do you think? More importantly, do you think the guys can handle it Jenni? (Wim and Juan) With that said...I think us ladies could do this all alone with the kids too and have (perhaps) even more fun? HAHAHAHAHA! Let's just toss some ideas around....

I'm all ready for War and peace. I have a printed out list of characters as well as a reading guide....a PLAN for reading it by the end of the summer....and I not only got the NOOK version of the Pevear and Voloknonsky translation....I BOUGHT THE BOOK....since I have the book of Anna too...it's just nice to have that as a concrete reference. I think this is going to be quite an endeavor. Hundred's of characters I am gathering....from what I'm finding on how to have an enjoyable reading experience of War and Peace.

I'm reading Divergent for the mommy book club here locally and after that....I'm ALL about War and Peace......

How are you liking Divergent? I have 100to pages in outlander then gone girl and then anna! It will be a perfect time to start with school coming to a close. Summer school is only in the mornings so i will have time to read after that!

Pam, I neded up getting the P&V translation of Anna of the nook, simply because that's the version of War and Peach that I own. I like it so far. I'm considering getting the real book of it because I'm missing all of the footnotes. I hate missing footnotes in books like this. Grr!

Sammi, how are you liking Outlander? You and Sonja really do need to read Gone Girl. Oh wow, I'd love to talk with all of you about it!

Pam, yes we do need to figure something out! I'm not sure that a big camping trip will work this year though... between Anja's swim meets and the fact that we need to head to the Netherlands... and that fact that I only have a two week window that I can take a vacation this year due to our ABET accreditation self study... Ugh. I hate ABET! Next year is our real ABET year, so this year is the trial run with the ABET people to prepare. Not fun. Not fun at all. Maybe we could make a fun weekend of it? I could let you know what weekends are open this summer? OH, and we need to figure out the Boone trip!

I am loving the Outlander books. I keep going back to them. I finish one and go on to read other books but always end up going back. I'm going to read Gone Girl now and then am going to read Anna Karenina.
