Hi Group,Ben here. I'm new to the group, and to this whole business (being a member of any group), but I love mystery/crime/spy novels. My tendency is to find an author I like and read everything they've written - this can sometimes lead to disappointment, and is not a hard and fast method, but I like who I like.
Some of my faves are John Le Carre, Daniel Silva, Fredrick Forsythe, Michael Connelly, Len Deighton, Denise Mina, and even John Grisham () among too many others to mention.
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks, and nice to meet y'all!

Hi there group! I'm a brand spankin new member. I've got a few books on here (don't worry, I won't promote) and I'm an avid reader of all books mystery/suspense/thriller. Some of my favorites are Dot Hutchison, Lisa Gardner, Greg Iles, to name a few. Believe it or not, not a huge fan of Gilian Flynn. I know, I know...I'll get stoned for that one, but I just think she's good, but overrated. I hope to gain more friends in the reading/writing community and discover some great new books and authors. Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Hi there! My name is Constanze, I live in Vienna, Austria, with my 3 kids and my husband, I'm an actress and a writer and I LOVE reading. I'm into all kinds of genres, but in Crime/Thriller I especially like Adrian McKinty, Minette Walters, Val McDermid, Thomas Harris, Agatha Christie, Simon Beckett and last year I discovered Meg Gardiner. I thought "Unsub" was brilliant and I'm looking forward to the next one: "Into the Black nowhere"!Would love to connect with you all! ;-)

Hello Constanze. Adrian McKinty is one of my favorite authors. The Sean Duffy series is one of the best series that I’ve read. You should give James Lee Burke and Ian Rankin a try if u haven’t already. They both make the setting come alive like McKinty does. Any good Austrian mysteries that u can recommend??

I really love Rebus, like Sean Duffy, he's such a special character. Which one is your favourite by JLB?
Actually there are several good Austrian Mystery writers! I especially like Wolf Haas, Andreas Gruber and Bernhard Aichner, though I'm not sure, if any of these are translated into English.

Haven't read his new one yet. I'll certainly check out the authors you have mentioned. I liked the Department Q series too. Listening to audiobook of the Alienist by Caleb Carr right now. (read it 15 years ago) Its been made into a miniseries on one of our networks. That will keep u reading all night. Search for a serial killer in 1896 NYC. Awesome characters. Great read!!
Hi Everyone,I'm Carol. I live in the desert southwest (New Mexico) and read and write murder mysteries. I also teach biochemistry as my day job, so I really love genetics and science mixed into the story. There's a little bit of DNA in the book I've most recently reviewed, 'Curses, Boiled Again' by Shari Randall. I love the title and the cover. I can recommend it for anyone who likes cozies and lobster. I also read a lot of historical romance and historical mysteries, and I LOVE Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child books. Looking forward to interactions and discussions.
