Haven't seen the new adaption. Must get onto that. Last year I went back to some of the earlier TV series episodes to get my fix.

It's hard for me to picture Rowan Atkinson in a dramatic role. I always think of him as Mr. Bean. But I'm game to see him spread his wings.

@Mara Rowan Atkinson actually did a really good job in the role 😊 I had the same thought as you that R.A. will always be Mr.Bean and Blackadder to me. But I was pleasantly surprise by his portrayal of Maigret 😊 even if he doesn't look anything like the book Maigret 😊

As I said I am open to seeing Rowan Atkinson do dramatic roles. I know there were other Maigret TV series or movies before I saw the one that Michael Gambon did for BBC or ITV. To me Michael Gambon will always be Jules Maigret.

However, whenever I first think of Maigret, I think of Bruno Cremer as the classic.

I'll give Cremer a look, but I can't imagine anyone displacing Gambon for me. :)

Welcome, Billy. If you like noir, you might want to try Scandinavian crime fiction, otherwise known as Nordic Noir. There's even a group dedicated to it.

Welcome, Joyce!

Welcome, C.J. It's a good group.

I love crime fiction - mysteries & crime thrillers. Years ago I devoured nearly all of the Ed McBain 87th Precinct series.
In more recent times I read James Patterson and John Grisham as well as some of the "old names" in the genre like P.D. James.
If you check out my bio you will see I now write both memoir and crime fiction. See Undercover: Operation Julie - The Inside Story and Who The F*ck Am I?.
I do hope to get to know some of you in here and look forward to the discussions.
