Nicholas Stewart | 4 comments Hi, I have a funny feeling I wrote on this ages ago, but seeing as it has been a long time since I have used goodreads (my degree ate my time) I thought I'd best do another one.
I'm Nicholas, 24, who lives in Scotland, in a town somewhere west of Glasgow. I tend to mostly read crime and fantasy fiction, with a particular preference for anything written by Ian Rankin. I hope to discover more crime novels here, and to just generally get to know some fellow book lovers.

Jennifer (bplayfuli) | 15 comments Hi group, I'm Jennifer. I'm 36 and married and I live in Ohio, USA. I have a BA in English and I'm a book nerd for life. I'll read almost anything but mystery is my favorite genre, and cosies (cozies) are my favorite sub-genre. I'm currently reading several series by authors John Sandford, Alan Bradley, Louise Penny, and Susan Wittig Albert. If I had to pick my favorite authors I would have to say Agatha Christie and John D. MacDonald.

Heather (trixieplum) | 193 comments Hi, Jennifer! Welcome to the group! How are you enjoying Louise Penny? I'm one of the resident Inspector Gamache addicts in the group!

I finished the first book a couple days ago and ADORED it! Inspector Gamache is such a great character, the writing was good, and the mystery plot made sense. I think Penny managed to balance all the elements nicely.

I'm looking forward to reading more in the series once my library requests come in.

Lisa Black (lisablackauthor) | 16 comments Hi, I'm Lisa Black, I'm a CSI and author of published novels of forensic suspense. I don't seem to have enough time to read as much as I like but I've been doing better lately. I also like to listen to audiobooks (usually nonfiction) when I'm stuck doing fingerprints for hours at work. (I can download them from the library to my phone--LOVE IT!)Oh, and I'm sort of having a midlife crisis. Okay, not really any 'sorta' about it, I am. Right now reading a Randy Wayne White.

Brian Krause I'm an avid reader of crime fiction but cut my teeth on Stephen King as a teenager and still read everything he writes. Sandford, Connelly, Connolly, Vachss, Parker, LeHane are just a few of the authors I have followed religiously. Since I found GoodReads, it directed me to Gillian Flynn, Brett Battles, Chelsea Cain and other authors. Have read all the Lee Child "Reacher" books and also many of the Stephen Hunter Bob Lee Swagger books. Can't get enough of vigilante justice dispensed so swiftly! :-)

message 2521: by Nancy (new)

Nancy J Hi, everyone! I'm a 66-year old grandma to 3 grown grandkids, married for 48 years, and slave to 4 cats.We live in East Central IL, USA. I do a lot of needlework, and I used to read a lot before teaching myself needle arts. Maybe no one hears this much on Goodreads, but I'm actually joining a few groups to get inspired to read again. I tend to take a book to bed and read several pages before realizing I didn't absorb it because I'm half asleep! I tend to lean toward the genre of this group, but I have enjoyed many others through the years. My life has been fraught with unbelievable tragedy, but my outrageous sense of humor has seen me through it all. Janet Evanovich is my kind of writer when the mood hits, and I discovered I like some fantasy, historical fiction, and even some romance if it's not sappy and full of savages ravishing helpless, hopeless women turned on by half-naked musclemen. Gag! The first Fern Michael romance I read was really crappy, but I was hooked on her sisterhood series. That bunch of gals, with their enabling mentors, were right up this old girl's alley, and I'd love to have done some of those things myself!

I look forward to some group reads and inspiration to sample many new-to-me authors, and of course, interacting with you members. It appears to be a good group!

E.D. Ward | 1 comments Hi to everyone, this is my first time in such a group. I am an artist/writer currently based in Oxfordshire, who after a couple of intense years has just finished my first book. I am a lover of Nordic Noir which first got me into this mess (joke!), with a need to be creative which constantly drives me. Always interested in other peoples views on life, the universe and everything, though I’m surprised I found the time to write this introduction, as my work seems to eat up all my time. Anyway, good to be here!

Ian MacGregger | 1 comments My name is Ian MacGregger. I was born in Inverness, Scotland during the winter of 1973. My father was a shepherd. My mother worked for the local council. We lived in a small cottage along the A82 on the north bank of Loch Ness. I grew up on the Loch. Got my first boat when I was thirteen. Spent days exploring its coves. And, oh yes, I did see Nessie! But that was much later on after a late evening that involved several pints and more than my share of Scapa Flow whisky. Nice girl. Pretty face. Longish neck. Not much in the leg department.

I am Anna’s confidential assistant. And, before you ask, I don’t know her last name. As far as I can determine, she hasn’t got one. She is a paranormal private detective with an amazing range of skills and abilities. A genius to be sure but a great deal more. With Anna's permission, I chronicle some of our more interesting cases. I'm also a voracious reader and love discussing books; particularly good ones. You can visit me at http://www.ianmacgregger.com/

I did the same, a thriller, too, that KIRKUS calls “An ambitious thriller, successful in nearly every respect.” Unsettle the Score
Be well.

Kathy | -19 comments Can't stop!!! I am a huge fiction fan, especially murder (detective), and urban fantasy (no vampires please!). I am currently on book 17, of the Faye Kellerman, Rina Lazarus & Peter Decker Series. I've been reading them straight through for almost two months. I also like Louise Penny, Inspector Gamache Series.

I inhale books! It's gotten so bad, that I don't fall asleep until after 4:00 in the morning! But who cares! I'm retired and this is my hobby! Always looking for good books to read.
