Introductions

My friend had to close her shop, unfortunately.

This group looks interesting!

I too wish I could get a bookstore in my town. We have one about 10 miles away. I use the library alot and Amazon used books a ton.
Four of us friends have formed a bookclub and are having a great time. Do you have a couple friends who would be interested. What my friends like was that we did not have to read the same book but used the same topic.
Have you read any of Liza Marklund's books? She is Swedish and many of her books have been translated to English.
Have fun with the group and let me know if there is anything I am missing that I should read or see..

I haven't read any Ian Rankin books but they look interesting, especially The Falls.
I don't know why I haven't read any Dennis Lehane. I loved the movie, Mystic River, but of course should have read the book first. I'll definitely look for that, and some of his other books as well.

Here we have actually very good libraries. Unfortunately, all the activities seem to be for kids and teenagers, you know, to get them into reading. Think I must suggest something for adults too, like the bookclub!

I live in Maryland, too. What part of the state do you live in? I live near Baltimore.

I live in Colorado, and I look forward to discovering new books through this group.

My name is Mary- Ellen, and I am 58 years old, married, with 3 boys and 1 granddaughter, 2 step-grandchildren and two dogs. I love to read all genres, but I have always enjoyed reading mysteries over the years. I am fortunate to work in a bookstore, in Brampton, Ontario Canada, called Chapters. I am the receiver there, so I get to see everything new coming in on a daily basis. Working in a bookstore has it's perks, but it also very hard on your pocketbook. LOL! What can I say, I love to read! So nice to meet you all.
Hi, I'm Christine from Liverpool but live in Southampton, UK. I love Minette Walters, Robert Goddard, Peter Robinson and Nora Roberts novels. I have over a hundred crime thrillers on my Kindle to read so it's a good job I have just retired and have time to devote to the task :).

I think it's just that potatos are a major crop grown in Idaho. So there's this association that this is all that goes on in Idaho. Like my home state Georgia is the peach state, so some of my friends have called me Peaches. Whether Idaho produces more potatos than other states, I don't know. Maybe Kat does? Personally, I think potatos are about the best thing that grows. I love em. :)
I've been meaning to read the Pendergast series. I had an old paperback of Relic for the longest time and never read it. I did see the movie though. Terrifying!!! My partner loves them.

Mallory

Hi, Mallory! I am from Tupelo, so welcome neighbor! So glad to have you in the group. You will get the hang of things very quickly, but if you need any help, please feel free to ask. ; )

Welcome to the group, Evelyn! It is a pleasure to have a lover of books here. I, too, believe I must have books to exist. I had to break down and get a kindle because of the storage problem. I didn't think I would like it, but I really do because it finally resolved the reading in bed dilemma with the build in light. We are thrilled to have you as a new member! ; )

Hi, Teri! Teaching first grade is not for sissies! Thank you for making a difference in so many lives. We are thrilled to welcome to MCT! ; )

; ) I look forward to chatting about books with you.

Welcome to the group, Mark. It is always grand to add a new reader and writer to the group.

Welcome to the group, Christine! I have a soft spot for Minette Walters, too. I am looking forward to chatting about books with you. ; )

These are new to me, Kat, but..."
Yeah, potatoes are a major crop here, but people like to laugh at Idaho anyway, I guess.
Will start a thread eventually lol

Thanks Connie.
