Thank you--very happy to be here!

It's always nice to meet new people, thanks for having me :)

I’m Tracey from London, UK and I am very pleased to have found this group.
Some of my favourite MCT authors – Denis Lehane, James Lee Burke, John le Carre, William Landy - plus I love reading the ‘Nordic noir’ authors.
From the UK, I’d recommend Belinda Bauer and Peter May to US readers if they haven’t come across them
I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s opinions, discovering more authors and making some new friends.
;-)

I love Italy which I think..."
Hi Jenni, yes, I read them all translated in italian. I didn't dare to read any in english yet, 'cause I'm worried that reading a mystery implies to be able to read "among the lines" to understand the details and I'm not sure I'd be able to do it. I still have books to read in italian (some Winslow, some Ellroy, Crais, Burke and most UK writers etc.) and I'm sure I'll jump to english ones once the good books will finish. I know I'm missing some good ones (last two Connelly's Harry Bosch for example)and also this push me to try them soon. May I ask what recurring mystery/thriller characters you loved most and in which order?

Hi Annie, I'm from the North West I like books set in Manchester welcome to the group.

Hi Donna & everyone who's joined over the weekend.
I'm from the North West I joined the group last year & have recently been an active member I'm discovering new authors each time I log on my husband is moaning about the parcels from Amazon!!! My reading was getting stale until I started researching what friends read & what their friends read etc... I've found new authors from Ireland that I would never had considered reading before.

Hi Ericka, I collect books not owning a Kindle having no intent of getting one although soon with the price of some paperbacks I no doubt will.

Hi, Jac, I read the versions I can find. For Chandler and Block we have very well translated versions in Mandarin Chinese. I just borrow from our library. As for Rozan, unfortunately, it's not translated. I buy paperbacks online. There's an online bookstore where I can find English books (and books in other foreign languages) easily. They don't have everything, but so far I've been able to find whatever I was looking for. I also buy most of my books on that site, if not in a bookstore I happen to walk in.

Thanks Jac. I'm in Wimbledon - sitting in the garden in the sunshine reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbo. Can't really tune-into the snowy setting today! :-)

No I haven't. I will add his name to my to read list. Thanks.

Hi, Ericka. Welcome to MCT! I am sure you will enjoy the group! We are thrilled to have you. ; )

Hi Saju, lots of us mystery lovers here. It's a great mix of readers, writers, and reader/writers.

Hi Donna, I love that you look for stories in books and in life. I think that makes living so much more enjoyable.

Monica, we are thrilled to welcome you to the group! You are a perfect fit for MCT! : )

Hi Victoria. Raymond Chandler was magic. The rest are pretty impressive, too.

Welcome to the group, Joni! Retirement is grand, and you will..."
Hi Joni, I'm from Los Angeles, but I live in Galveston, Texas now, love it and write about it in my mysteries. Consider NaNoWriMo.org to take up a challenge amoung supportive folks. There's a CampNaNoWriMo.org (where you set your goal) in July.

Hi Joe, the closest connection I have to your part of town is my Brother In Law who lives in the Lake District. Yes, I know, that's not close at all. I love horror, not the slasher stuff because I find that annoying, but the true fight against evil stories. Those can make me sleep with my light on.

Donna, so glad you are enjoying the group! It is also so grand to meet you. : ) I agree that wonderful stories are the main thing, and you have selected some fantastic authors. You will find lots of members here to trade recommendations with.

I started The Snowman last night, and it is really spooky. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

Hi Enrico, you've got great taste and I'm very impressed with someone who is so well versed in a second language that you can read such stories!

Welcome to the group, Joe! When your reading time is limited, it makes it all the sweeter, doesn't it? So glad you are one of us now. We are excited to have you among us.
