Welcome to the group Denniger! I would get a lot more reading done if I didn't stay on Goodreads so much! But I think that reading would only help you in writing, so you could look at it that way!! ;-)

Great! I have so many wonderful charts and kits to do, but when I am doing cross stitch, I am thinking about reading, and when I am reading, I am thinking about doing scrap booking, or knitting, ormaking new Christmas stockings for my baby granddaughters.....When I retired, I thought it would be easier, but I just keep finding more things to do. And that was BEFORE I found Goodreads in January! Are you in the same boat? Plus you are a mod!

message 1260: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Corley | 1298 comments Yes I am Laurel! I find that if I'd keep my butt off goodreads (like now I'd get a lot more work done - shhhhh don't tell my boss!) that I would get a lot more reading done!

I've taken a hiatus on my stitching and I need to finish it because it's almost done, but when I did stitch I would still try to either read my kindle or listen to an audio book!

It is tough though!

ah, the endless dilemma: to read or to knit? to knit or to read? i'm not an audio books person--i always have to rewind because i'm not a good listener. i've been thinking of appropriating my mom's e-reader and using my knitting needle to tap the screen to turn the page between rows.

I've learned that its easier to listen with headphones. More of a direct connection between the voice and my ears. If I don't put my earphones on I don't hear a thing!

My daughter is at a sleepover and my husband and son went on a bike ride so I have the house to myself and I should be reading, but NO I am watching my DVR and ogling on here!

message 1266: by Andrea (new)

David Freas (quillracer) | 2376 comments Hi, everyone. I'm Dave, a retired pharmacist from Pennsylvania. My tastes run from cozies like Cleo Coyle's Coffeehouse Mysteries to harder-edged writers like Michael Connelly and James Lee Burke, but I'm not a fan of serial killer books and really have a hard time buying into novels with a supernatural component. I like thrillers and suspense novels where the overall premise isn't too outlandish to be believable (James Bond novels for example).

Katie | 7 comments Hi everyone! I'm Katie and I'm fairly new to goodreads. I live in North Carolina and am a commercial real estate paralegal by trade and a reader, animal lover and competitive equestrian for fun. I love just about any type of mystery, whether it's procedural, cozies, psychological thrillers, or crime. My favorite authors in the genre would have to be Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, and T. Jefferson Parker. I'm excited to be here can't wait to join in the discussions!
