Also, Barbara, I have to order most of yours since my library only carries Suspicion but I'll be picking it up tomorrow to read (hopefully this week if I have enough time)! I'll post a review for you once I do, of course. Usually I just give books stars and put them on whatever list of mine that I feel they fit into but I will make sure to write out a full review :)
Once again, welcome to all of the new people! Check out the boards and get involved - you've definitely joined a great group! Happy Reading!

I also live in Texas, in what are called the mid-cities between Dallas and Fort Worth. I was an army brat so originally I was from all over but grew up in northwest Arkansas, a very lovely area.
Currently working in healthcare. My favorite author, for now, is David Baldacci. I love his "Camel Club" series.

Thanks, Mindy, I'll look forward to that.

Although not really an MCT novel, "Devil in the White City" is a "true crime" work of historical narrative that reads like a fiction thriller. i highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys the MCT genre...

Deb from CT

My favorites though, are Elizabeth Peters and Elmore Leonard, because the characters are just so much fun.

Hi Deb, Thanks for the welcome. I love curling up on our couch or snuggling in the bed with a book and the last blanket my grandma was able to mae before cataracts took her sight.
Do you mind if I add you as friend?

My favorite authors are Michael Connelly, James Lee Burke, Tony Hillerman, Ellis Peters, Laura Lippman (standalones), John Sandford and many more. More recent favorites are Reed Farrell Coleman, Timothy Hallinan and Ace Atkins.
For nine years I reviewed audio books for Mystery News (www.blackravenpress.com), a bimonthly subscription mystery newspaper that ceased publication in 2009, and just recently I started writing mystery reviews for Deadly Pleasures (www.deadlypleasures.com).
I lead a face-to-face mystery discussion group called Mystery Talks that meets monthly in Stevensville, MD at the library.
I'm on the national board of Bouchercon (www.bouchercon.info), the World Mystery Conference held annually in a different city each year.
I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas with everyone and sharing our love of mystery fiction, etc.

Autumn, have you read Denise Mina, Val McDermid, Minette Walters or Andrew Vachss? Very dark and gritty, and sometimes grisly.

Hi Aki,
Yes, you have a lot of good reading ahead of you. Have you read any other of Donald Westlake's books? He wrote over a hundred under different names.
Dave

I read Blindsighted last year to prepare for a panel I moderated. Karin Slaughter was a real treat and although a little shy, was very funny and a great panelist.

Hi, Minette Walters is a fantastic author! I have been hooked on her for a long time. I saw "The Sculptress" on PBS Mystery and had to read it. Of course, then I had to read her other books. You know how that goes. lol

Looking forward to book discussions and finding new titles/authors to read.

Jonetta, have you read The Snowman? That one scared me pretty good!
Don, you will love the online book club; it is addictive.
