i'm thinking of naming my children after these names-eomer, rohirim, faramir, kili, mithrandir, elrond, estel, ellessar,
My son is named Elessar. And he doesn't seem to bear me any grudge over it ;-)I think Tolkien's female names generally lend themselves better to use in this world, though I love the male names as well. I would suggest that Rohir ("horse lord") would perhaps work better than the collective Rohirrim ("Horse Lords"), or perhaps Elrond's son's name: Elrohir.
Our son is named Samuel Dain. Dain Ironfoot II has been my husband's favorite character for years. We call our son little Ironfoot. : ) If we had had a girl we were thinking Elanor.I have also met two Arwens in my lifetime, one of them was named before the movies came out and I think that is awesome!
I plan to call my daughter/son 'Mithrandir', in my country parents are so creative and the references aren't limited to bible/history books. Some people here named their kids 'radio', and 'tv'; believe it or not. Compared to those 'Mithrandir' will sound awesome :D
I use Tolkien names for video game characters. Does that count? A future cat might be named Aulë or after one of the Elves.
My siblings and I are:Elrond, Arwen, Galadriel, Theoden. My son and daughter:Turin Turambar and Luthien
Galadriel's kids:Lorien, Beren, Nienna, Vala, Nessa, Quenya
Arwen's kids:Anduin, Theoden, Laurelin, Strider, Ea
Theoden's kids:Eowyn, Elena, Arwen
We all obviously loved our names enough to continue the tradition. We've never regretted our names for a moment.
Not from LotR, but (heresy!) I named one cat Harrypotter (so spelt) because of a flashlike white mark right on her black skull. My most notorious online nick, however, is Lalaith.

That is the awesomest thing I have ever heard!
Just a few days ago I saw a car that said on the back window 'Legolas aboard'. So it seems like they named their kid Legolas. I think it's a really beautiful name, although I woull not name my child like that because everybody immediately knows it's a name of The Lord of the Rings. What if the kid will hate LotR when it's grown up? (i mean, who could hate LotR right? But it's just a theoretical question ;-))
My fiancé and I plan to name our first child Laurelin (one of the Two Trees of Valinor) if it's a girl, or Daerion (Great Son) it's a boy. She is 5 weeks into the first trimester. We can't wait to find out!

My family names our dog Rivendell...I also call her Shadowfax:)) Every time I play a game where we make up names I'm Arwen but now apparently there's some TV show with a boy names Arwen and my friends are like, "Uhh, thats a boy name..."
My cousins named their dogs Merry and Pippin an they know someone who named their dog Strider.
I've had 4 English Springer Spaniels named from LOTR; Mr. B. Baggins of Bagshot Row, Miss Rosie Cotton of Bywater, Precious Pearl of Underhill*, and Bilbo of There and Back Again. *There was a Pearl Took, but she didn't live at Underhill. My elderly neighbor, Pearl, who lived at the base of a mountain was the inspiration of that name.
I once had a dog called Bilbo. He died of old age, like mr. Baggins...I remember our old maid calling him "Biubo"... guess she did not even hear about Tolkien... LOL.
When I was in H.S., I had a Norwegian Elk hound named Gandalf. More recently we adopted a Dachshund and I find myself doing a Gollum impersonation when I'm feeding him. Lines like: "Is it tasty? Is it scrumptious? It is crunchable?" Can't help myself. :)

Elanor (El - star; Anor - sun)
I have nothing currently, but when I was growing up, we had a beagle named Sam, a dwarf hamster named Gimli, and a Guinea pig named Galadriel.

Haha, yeah it seemed to a popular name for pets when I was growing up.
When I was little, we had a baby dragon we named Smaug. After he got his wings, he flew off and we haven't seen him since.
My brother for some reason used to call our dog the smeegelly pup (I have no idea why), but I made him stop, for obvious reasons! (He never read LotR, so he had no idea.)
We named many of our pets after LotR characters. My first dog was Sam, we had a Guinea pig named Galadriel, a dwarf hamster named Gimli, my third dog was named Pippin. (For my second dog, we switched to Narnia and called her Lucy)

We had a dog named Rover.
