Ify (cookies_and_cream) | 107 comments If I'm not distracted or don't have a lot to do, I can usually read 5-10 chapters. Well, if I'm enjoying the book.

message 152: by Kristel (last edited Jul 26, 2013 02:25PM) (new)

Kristel (kristelrose) | 33 comments It really depends.. if it's a book I'm really into, I can read a 500 pages book in one day. But if it's like a re-read I will most likely read about 100-200 pages a day. This is all when I don't have school, unfortunately I can't read much except homework when I have school, because anxiety takes over.

message 153: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (dannieannie94) | 62 comments I used to read a book a day. I would go a few weeks doing that and afterwards I wouldn't be able to read another book for a few months! Which is just terrible.

I finally began reading again and now I'm making myself think "take your time, enjoy the book" I used to just want to read as much as I could to clear off my shelves and up my "read" book count. I realized it was taking away from the books.

Now I read everyday here and there but I let myself put the book down much more often and not fret if it takes me a few days to read it all.

message 154: by MsLucyYC (new)

MsLucyYC | 14 comments I read when I wake up, probably a couple of minutes just to get my mind to start working, then an hour during lunch break then when I get home I read for about 2-3 hours. But it depends on the book, if I'm really into it, I'd stay up until the wee hours of the morning just to finish it. :-)

Victoria | 61 comments I try to read whenever I can. I usually read for about two hours before going to bed, but whenever I have time during the day, I try to read!

message 160: by LemonJello (new)

LemonJello I'm pretty sporadic. If I'm in a reading mood I read anywhere from 1 to 3 books in a day otherwise its 2 to 4 hrs. When I drive/clean I listen to books. If I stumble upon a really good series I normally plow through it within a couple days. But then I get side tracked by web browsing or watching various random TV shows online.

message 161: by Sephora (new)

Sephora (f-of-words) It usually depends on what I have on hand to read, but I typically read all day!

Sandy I read at least 2 hours at night before I go to bed. Sometimes I read before I get up and sometimes during the day, it all depends on the day and the book. The minimum is 2 hours a day. The weekends I read more too.

Sumedha singh (Sumedhasingh) | 5 comments Depends on the day like if i am going to college then 1-2 hours if its holiday i cant count
but it also depend on book some books are so addictive you cant put them down so at that time i prefer to finish the book instead of messing with my head ;)

message 185: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, if you asked my husband how much I read, he would say WAY too much :) I do, I read a lot. I do nails in a salon, so when I'm not busy, which lately has been often b/c of the weather, I read. I don't sleep well, so I read... I have done three and four books a day, depending how good they are and how long they are. I also take spells, where I just can't stop...or jus have to finish one more page, or one more chapter!

message 186: by - ̗̀ jess ̖́- (new)

- ̗̀ jess ̖́- (kazbrekkers) | 71 comments if i'm in school i'll probably be finishing a book a day because i'm reading at lunch and after school and on the bus home and whenever i don't have to do anything in class because i don't really have friends to talk to.

at home i'll just read if i feel like it, which sometimes i barely read, sometimes i get through two books a day.

message 187: by Alex (new)

Alex (acobaf) | 97 comments Not as much as I would like :(

Life is wasted on the living [Elena] | 65 comments On vacations and weekend I read four hours a day, at the least. But the rest of the year, when I'm going to school, I usually read at night, which results with a serious lack of sleep. But I can't help it. I am a one passionate reader and if something really intrigues me there is almost nothing that would stop me from reading until I find out whatever that is.
Basically, I spend every free moment reading, except when I'm out of my house with my friends.
My record is reading two books of 200 pages in a day.

John Burnett | 23 comments deleted user wrote: "I have found myself reading ALOT more than usual. I think I read like 2-3 hours each day. But on weekends, I read like all day long. Haha

I always try to read everyday!"

I'm a college English prof (composition and literature), so I have to read a seemingly endless stream of essays every week. Not fun. That's why my recreational reading--8 hours or so--is so very important to me on the weekends!
