NO slapped wrists if they write porn. I'm easy, what can I say?!

message 102: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments And I admit I ignore most writer-related posts in the Morning/Grumpy/Any thread.

I'm horrible aren't I?

R.M.F. Brown | 2124 comments Drop and runs? Is that a description for the winter vomiting bug? :)

On a more serious note, they are annoying, but I'll bet most people ignore them anyway.

I see Newcastle got a SPANKING today.

A drop and run is when someone plonks a book promo in the middle of a thread where it doesn't belong and doesn't come back to see what happens.

message 113: by Katie (new)

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Or even in the New Releases thread, I think?

message 114: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Or anywhere.

Look through the author threads and see how many have never been returned to.

I'm going to give them a good cleaning out this month, I think.

It's not fair on the authors who add value to he group to have them lumped in with the drop n runs, I reckon.

message 115: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments Yeah. Although to be fair it took me ages to find my promo post.

Lol on the KDP forums the other week some new guy had answered every post asking for help or discussing issues with his promo post. It was really annoying. Not even a hello or just in one thread. They got deleted by admin in the end.

I can understand that, especially if one is new to Goodreads. And we're always happy to help people find their way around, of course.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments It's been very difficult for me not to try a drop-and-run on this thread. So tempting...

My self-restraint is legendary ;)

*snigger*

message 121: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dont even try it Darren.

If you dropped a link like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/D.M.-Andrews/...

I'd have to spank you.

Then all the other authors would be jealous.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments tehe. It's OK, I started a whole new thread instead ;)
