Well I finally got a definitive response from Goodreads about the RKB account. It's not good :(
Hi Jessica,
I really apologize for the delay! I checked on the status of that account, and it looks like it was deleted by someone who was logged into it. The last login was on June 18 from Romania; did you have a book club member who was logging in to the shared account from that location?
I am also extremely sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but once an account has been deleted, we remove all of its data and any information associated with the account from our systems. There's no way to retrieve this information, as we only keep a skeleton record that shows that an account was once created with a specific email address (and a log of when the account was deleted). Given this, we can't extract any information from the deleted account. I'm so sorry about that.

What a bummer. Seems like there is no more hope after all :-(I guess whenever too many people can make entries the chance for something like this happening is very high.
Maybe the number of people who have the log-in information to the account should be restricted if there is another try.

It's a dilemma. I want everyone to be able to see what others are reading, but I want to be able to restrict those who might delete it again. I'm going to be on vacation for 2 weeks and I'll be giving it some thought.
Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. Maybe just have a certain group of people who can add books - people you can trust. We can easily get another 2013 books in 2013. :-)

Another idea, since we met the goal once already is to see if we can meet it again from this time forward with just the new books that we have read. Saving it every sounds good and having people PM you with the password. Also, changing the password from time to time may be good.

As most of you know by now, someone deleted our challenge page from GoodReads. I've been thinking about what we could do to get our books back and I've come up with this:
I've created a new page called RKB2013. If you'd like to participate in the challenge, send me a PM and I'll send you the password. That way I can control who gets to add books to our site.
It's going to take a bit of work to get everyone's books back on the list. If you can do it yourself, please do! If you've PMed me with your finished books, I'm pretty sure I can reconstruct your shelf. When I finish updating your shelf, I'll send you a PM with a list of all of your books to see if I have all of them. If you're feeling really lazy, friend me (if we aren't already) on GR and I'll add the books.
If you've been posting on the GR RKB page, I'll go through and add all of the books posted there.
If you have any questions, let me know!

We are friends here on Goodreads, so will you be able to add my books that are on my 2013 shelf? Let me know when you have done so and I will then keep up with it. Unfortunately, I don't have a record of all the books that I read my son this year, but I can start once you send me the password to the RKB account.

Well, we're back on line!! I've had a chance to update some folks, but not everyone. So far, I'm caught up on: Allison, Angela (Dre), Andrea, Barnaby, Debbie, Hannah, Kee, Maureen, Rhoda, Stefanie, Susan B (aka Bybee), Susan Johnson Crowe and Susan C. Now, if you would be so good as to PM me a list of books that you've read since June 20th, I'd appreciate it. A PM would be easier for me so I can do each person individually. If anyone would like to know how to add their own, let me know and I'll explain. You DO need to be able to open 2 different browsers, and it's best done on a computer.
I still haven't done Kathy R yet, or Patricia. Kathryn and Sharon, I see that you've added your own books...THANK YOU!! Michael...I only have 1 book from you...do you want me to add all of them?
I really hate that someone felt the need to delete our page but I'm so happy that everyone is rallying around to start it back up again!!

If someone else has already entered the book, click on the book title then on "edit review". On the bottom left, just above the "save" button, you'll see "more options" kind of shaded in brown. Click on that and find the place where it says "number of times I've read this book" and add one to the total. Click on "hide more options" then click "save" and you're done. It takes a lot longer to tell you how to do it than it does to actually do it! :)

37 people have signed up and have books added to their shelves. I'm proud of the way that everyone has come together to re-add their books. It's not nearly as many as we had when we lost the page, but I'm happy with it!

I'd like to thank everyone for pitching in and getting this page up and running again. Although it's been a lot of work getting our books re-added, I think it's been worth it!!
Housekeeping: I recently went through and checked for duplicates and found several. I'd like to keep the read count correct, so I changed a few people from the edition that they put in to an edition that had more people. In some cases there were equal numbers in 2 different editions so I checked page count and put everyone in the book with the most pages! If your book doesn't look like the edition you entered, that's why!
