the school feild

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Jaze walked around the feild, in short and a tee shirt. She had her mind closed off to others so they couldn't get in her head and so her powers wouldn't kick in and invade someone's space on accident. She stretched her arms as she walked, happy to be out.

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) ((I'm ghosting from this moment on.))

((Just remember that the character I'm employing can't be affected by telepathy or anything in its nature.))

It was a nice evening for a mystery.

Ruminations of past farming hung everywhere like an american ghost town.

Empty, broken gas cans sprinkled the barren land, having once contributed support to the equally broken tractor skeletons away's way.

The sky was tainted yellow by near night's spectrum. Glistening to its gift were fields of wheat, dancing together and holding each other close. Alone, this gentle breeze could brake them but in this sea, not a single could crack. Smartly placed, nature was. It made sense when so much did not.

Across the path a splinter seeker would pull away from the school and cross this great steppe to a damaged barn.

The creak nearby provided the only really loud sound in all of these dimensions of prairie beauty were the frogs in the marsh nearby.

A shadow glimmered semblance to a human shape, off in the distance, entering the abandoned wear but soon, they were an enigma. Leaving wonder if anything had been there at all.

((Anyone outside can. It's just the field.))

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) ((K then.))

Jaze looked around, taking in the scenery. She enjoyed coming out to the field; It was one of her favorite places. She jogged over to the creak before sitting down beside the water. She leaned back on her hands and let herself relax for once.

Home, home on the range.
Something was definitely scavenging from the barn. Probably a raccoon sinking its grubby paws into an evening snack to dirty its masked gueule.

Strangely enough, no matter how calming the chirping proved to be a certain cold chill couldn't be ignored. It became apparent why.

On the top of the soft waters was a handful of scorched cards slowly sinking down into the muck. Their suits staring back with a certain eeriness, one (the black Maria) was found sitting on a lily pad, obstructed from sinking like the others.

Jaze saw the burned cards and stared at them. She closed her eyes and shook her head. "Why," she said softly, to herself, "must nearly everywhere I go be creepy, abandoned, or somewhat disturbing?"

((I'm having major brain fart on how to get this to go somewhere. I can't imagine why my character would ever be in a field unless someone from the mafia...))

In the bushes across from her side of the pond, something popped out and tapped the pond waters. A shoe submerge with the deep, having fallen through duckweed. A shoe, otherwise attached to the foot if someone hadn't dropped it there. Someone alive.

A little rattling and the hint of said foot was visible. The tiniest pigment of flesh among the aqua side shrubbery said 'hello, I'm a human body!'.

Little did she know, a complete person was lying inside the shrubbery, milking up its cover with thin, wispy breaths that could have been mistaken for a breeze among this evening's high winds and tempestuous gales. His chest pumped softly as he pretended to be part of this natural habitat. He wore a velvety red bottom up shirt and jeans, one foot now bare from tossing one shoe in the water as carelessly as a fisherman tossing his line.

Asking the wrong questions at the wrong time could do this to you. The ever awkward might of someone's major disappointment in your existence weighting the 'guilt' part of your scull and teaching your innards to skydive.

Imagine where picking the wrong pockets could get you! If the mafia hadn't caught it all on tape and hired an annalist to confirm the slip of his hand, none of this beating and dragging what they thought was his unconscious body would have taken the day away. Welcome to two hours of your life you'll never get back.

I seriously shouldn't of given them my card, he thought, grass stains from a few hours before during the period where he'd attempted rubbing of his gag. It's gonna be a real pretty night. I can see de stars now.

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) ((Forgive me for not knowing about mafia..I'm a Marvel nerd.....P.S. I'll be more active now. :) Back from a trip.))

Jaze heard noise and turned her attention to across the creek. The first things she saw were some bushes; The second thing she saw was a shoe, which got her skin tingling. "Adding to the creepy factor," she mumbled. "Joy." She frowned and stared at the bushes across the stream, this time trying to see if anything besides shrubbery was there.

A guy, maybe six feet tall was lying down, stargazing at a starless sky.

If that wasn't odd enough, his form bending the part of the plants he was in, he was gagged and his hands were tied with heavy knots and barb.

He made the best of it, cradling his head contently like this was a day at the beach. His legs were crossed, at ease. He seemed to be waiting for her because one eyebrow arched when she came by while he never once looked at her. The atmosphere was much more interesting to look at, apparently.

"Oh, hey," he said, the gag pulled a little off his lip, "Y'been starin' at de river f'long time. I's wonderin' when yo'd come."

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) A normal person would've jumped out of their skin if a voice they didn't know came from some shrubs. Jaze......Was not a normal person. She raised an eyebrow and didn't respond. Instead, she stood up and got on her toes, looking over the plants and at the body. "Looks like you've been lying there for a bit," she noted, ignoring his comment.

"De sky's nice, it's better den lying out in de open," he said like it was completely normal to speak to complete strangers more than it was to friends.

He had the weirdest brown eyes, glowy and off but nice all the same. It was probably the only thing physically odd. This being said, it wasn't a crime to have glowy brown eyes. However, it was a crime to have picked those crime dealer's wallets like Easter candy on a Sunday.

"Is der a name to dat pretty head o'yours?"

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Jaze raised her other eyebrow, so now both were raised. "'Dat pretty head'?" she questioned, faintly amused.

"Yeah, surprisingly pretty. Usually de pretty ones aren't de greatest t'inkers," he joked, flashing a smile beneath the rag at his mouth. "You're one special one a'right.... different from de rest," yet completely normal all at once.

Jaze rolled her eyes. "Mmm hmmm," she said. "Good to know that I'm apparently pretty and smart at the same time." She tilted her head slightly to the left. "And you realize that this is a school for super heros, right? Of course I'm different."

You should see me on Halloween, she thought. I can freak a lot of people out.

Guess dey hoped I'd get picked off and chewed by some mutant kids, he thought, the idea sparking more amusement than it should.

"Super Heroes?" he chuckled soundly, sighting the brightening moon overhead.

Seeing the moon really gave off that rustic camp ground feel (minus the liquor and never exhausting country music. There was even the faintest smell of a good ol' Cajun boucherie grilling on the propane fueler---either that or those Mafia guys from earlier were trying to torch the landscape to flush him out).

Jaze's appearance seemed to calm him no less. She seemed like a level headed gall with a no nonsense type attitude. That was probably exactly what he needed.

The guy released his head from his hands and used them to steady himself. He used that as a totem as he slowly sat up and got to his knees, pushing off the knotted band tying his feet together. One foot shoeless.

Looking up at her, steadying fists biting the grass bed, he said. "Didn't know der was no school here. Spent most o' my day sleepin' in de back of a pickup truck," if she caught his drift.

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) "Yes, super heroes." Jaze frowned, then got just a bit curious. "Why were you in the back of a pickup truck?" she asked, studying the man. "And why did you get tied up? I'm assuming that you ticked some people off." She went back to standing normally when he sat off, now off of her tip toes.

He got to his feet. Perhaps wearing the silk shirt of a fancy waiter, it should have brought a clue on who he was but he had a feeling she wasn't the kind to spend hours around the constant ticking of roulette tables.

"Was a casino clerk," he said with perfect suavity, smiling at how quick she was getting this, "De boys t'ought I was scammin' dem an ended up in dis beautiful marsh."

The words 'cocky little weasel' sounded about right except he wasn't a little weaselly guy, rather a tall, slightly scruffy seventeen year old.

"D'y mind?" He asked, showing her his wrists which were tied with the same plastic.

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Jaze nodded, stepping forward. "Sure," she said. "But if you try anything, I'll smack you." It took a moment, but she got his wrists free. Once the task was done, she looked up at him, since he was taller than her. "Let me guess." She got a small smirk on her face, "You get into trouble often?"

"And I guess y'don't?" He didn't bat an eyelash, rather leaned forward to get a better look at her in the dark. His eyes were definitely glowy.

"Y'gotta name, chouette? I'd hate t'have to resort t'pet names so quickly. It's undignifiyin'."

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Jaze raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment about the 'chouette' and 'undignifyin' statements. "If you need to know so badly, my name is Jaze," she told him. "Now that I told you my name, what's your's?"

It was a letter switch away from jazz or maybe that was just his homesick back of the brain shinning through.

He seemed to think about it for a second, "It's french, Jaze, hope y'can say it but in exchange, I'd like t'visit dis school o' yours," he flexed his wrists, enjoying their new born freedom. "De name's Rémy," Rémy said it like 'Do-Re-Mi' with a role in his 'r'.

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Smiling slightly, Jaze nodded. "I'll do my best to pronounce it correctly," she told Rémy. She took a step back, but still had to look up at him. "As for visiting the school, you're practically there already." Her smile grew a bit more visible and she gestured around the field. "You're on the school's property, Rémy."

Jaze sounded like this was Christmas and he was about to agree when a search light in the distance caught his eye. His eyes widened to the brim in the classic dear-caught-in-the-approaching-headlights manner.

He grabbed her shoulder and helped her out of the marsh in haste. Making sure she didn't slip on a frog or fall face flat into the now cooling pool bellow.

"Now we run. What direction, t'o?"

message 50: by MOVED - CHECK BIO (last edited May 08, 2013 04:56PM) (new)

MOVED - CHECK BIO (izzylightfleur) Jaze also saw the searchlight and let him help her run. After a minute or two though, she was running on her own and very quickly. "You're very good at making people mad," she muttered before answering. "Just follow me." Adrenalin pumping, she changed her direction by a few inches. She knew the school grounds well, and if she was correct, they would reach an old barn; The perfect place to hide.
