Info for Add new Editions of a book

I have a question about insertion of a new edition of a book: I click on a voice from editions page, and I add the data for the book.
When operation is completed, i have literally a new book, not linked to previous. At this point it is necessary that a Librarian combine the two editions.
Is procedure correct? Is there a way to link the main edition with new edition in insertion phase?

You have it right. Adding an edition creates a new book that has to be combined with the existing ones by a librarian. There is no automatic combining.
Combine request can be posted in this group.
