I tried reading this book a few months back but just couldn't focus and get myself in the mindset so I shelved it for later reading. And grabbed a chick lit instead. Hee. I hope reading it with this group might make a difference.
I was reading this book in 2003, but stopped halfway through when my dad was in a very serious car accident. My dad lived and is fine now, but every time I think of this book, I get drawn back to that event. I will give another try with the group, though. My bookmark is still probably in the spot where I left off!
I read this book a few years back and Loved it! It's probably one of my top ten books. I think I'll reread it this month too.
Okay, but if Robbie is reading it, too, there are probably going to be many (unfavorable) Orwellian comparisons to the Bush Doctrine!
LOL, Deb! I, along with millions of others, I imagine, read this in 1984. I bought it at a hick-town fair type deal, where it was being sold along with a lot of other books that had their covers torn off. It's only recently that I learned those were likely books that had been "destroyed" and discarded from bookstores. Anyway, I don't know that I'll re-visit the book, but I'll chime in with you where applicable.
