Hi! I am currently reading 2 books and exploring an an author. By March I will have finished reading
and
and will have read at least three books by Henry Drummond. I hope I am leaving my comment in the right place, please bear with me for I am new here. Thanks and good reads to everyone.
I am new to the thread and looking forward to reading challenges. What an interesting reading group. I am excited.
I am new to the group and the idea of challenges. I usually set my personal annual reading challenge at 100+ books a year of all types of genres. This I thought would just be a different way to interact with others and possibly read the same book as someone else. Great idea!
Will the June challenges be out soon? I try to get my books from the library, and a lot of times there are long holds, so I like to plan ahead if possible. :)
Thanks for your patience, both! We were a little behind this month, but we'll try to get the challenges up earlier in the future.
This maybe hard than I imagined.#20: Emotion/Feeling: "The Immortal Who Loved Me" by Lynsay Sands.

Gwen...
Berit, I'm sorry--we're a little late in getting it posted.Gwen, I think you meant to post that here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
General question about challenges: If I have a book in mind for a January challenge, is it permissible to start that book in December, or are we meant to begin and end our reading while the challenge is in progress? Thanks. =)

Do you mean for the Let's Turn Pages - challenge Katharine? No minimum page limit. We want you all to set the goals that fits your reading habits and time.
There's also no page minimum for books to count for challenges - if Goodreads counts it as a book, it's good enough for us. :)

This year, I have the challenge of reading 120 books, more or less, so I decided to plan monthly challenges to decide the books!
January: 2015 bestsellers (in English and Spanish)
February:
March: 10 classics.
April:
May:
June: Dan Brown
July:
August: Camilla Läckberg.
September: Agatha Christie.
October:
November:
December: Mary Higgins Clark.
I'm trying to mix well-known writers and other "musts", but I still have some gaps!!

I received a new book for Christmas so I started reading it today. I will start American God's in January. My goal is to read one book every week this year so that would make at least 52. I also am co-reading with my youngest daughter for a 100 book challenge that her school is doing this year.
Hello at allIn 2017 i want to do a in member of Henning Mankell Challenge. Who is keen to read with ?
Hi Sabine! I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you'd like to see if other people want to read a particular book with you during a particular month, you can propose it as a buddy read.
I want to read 5 books from Henning Mankell it's my own challenge. But I don't know do I post it here or in the buddy Thread
Hi Sabine, I think something like that would be best to post in your member corner unless you would like people to read with you (in which case it should be the buddy thread).
I can't wait to see what the April challenges will be when they come up! Oh, and the 2nd quarter challenges too! So curious! Okay Lisa enough of the exclamation marks.
Happy Thursday :)

Hello, possibly I'm in the wrong thread completely, but I just had an idea for a kind of TBR-pile-related challenge... I guess.
A Three Wizard Tournament, loosely based on you know what. The idea would be to read three books in three months which star wizards, and, of course, a fourth one (which will pass all the challenges and face You Know Who). The choice of books would be free to each participant, apart from the wizards to be in them.
I've no idea whether this is any good or interesting or can fit anywhere in this group.
Love that idea, Auntie Terror! You might like to post it in the 2017 Challenge Ideas thread, where it may get more eyeballs and support. =)Hope that helps.

- All of our challenges are date-based challenges. This means that they run for certain time periods.
- Once the time period is over, the challenge is done.
- You can join a challenge after its start date and retroactively add the books you read over that period before you started the challenge. For example, if a challenge runs from January through March and I join at the start of February, I can count any books read in January toward the challenge.
- For each challenge, it's one book per task. If you have a book that suits more than one task, you get to choose which task to apply it to.
- If you participate in multiple challenges over the same time period, you CAN count the same books toward multiple challenges. For example, if I participate in The Listopia Challenge and The Book Riot Challenge and a book I read works for both challenges, I can use it for both challenges.
- In all of our challenges, YOU set the goal for how many tasks you intend to complete. We all read at different paces, and this way, everyone can participate.
The first post of each challenge thread contains the instructions for how the challenge works. Each challenge also has a leader who helps keep the challenge running smoothly. If you would like to join a challenge and have a question on how to participate, you can post your question in the challenge's thread and the leader or one of the mods will be happy to answer it.
