What do you like in a hero?
date
newest »

charm
good looks
generous personality
caring and affectionate
willing to help people less fortunate than himself
more to come!!
what do I like...
well....
humour and wit
personality and a strong character
gentle and kind and generous
intelligence, at least some!
pleasing features; partcularly... eyes and hair...
charm and affection
treats me well ;)
i will stop there.
thinking about heroes in stories, how about what do we like then?
I like a hero who has flaws and faults - perfection is boring and unrealistic! I especillay like a story where the hero and heroine both have flaws and who both 'change' (but that's not the right word) This is Lizzy and Darcy, and their story and how they try to remedy their flaws for each other is why i like them and the story so much!
I also like a hero who has had something bad happen in the past. I gives them hidden depts and more dept to their character, helps to shape them...
i could ramble for a while ;)

There's also something about the way he looks at the love interest, like the way Darcy admires Elizabeth before he even admits he is in love with her. A lot of movies demonstrate an attraction from the hero just by the look he gives his leading lady :)

compassionate: wants to help, rescues a damsel in distress, goes out of the way to make someone's life better.
passionate: he shows anger, love, sadness, joy. He speaks with feelings, he makes me feel what he is feeling. One who has a 'nice' mouth. He compliments, he teases but he never seeks to injure or break a heart.
honestly ambitious: whether he is rich or poor, he desires to work and take care of those he love. He has a plan for the future: long term and short term.
I think I covered him :P

I can't remember if there was much of him in the book... But I really liked him in the movie! :)

If I had to pick one of the Austen men, it'd be Darcy, no contest.
(Mine to follow)
