This may be my fault but the profile the Author Profile points to is wrong. It links to J.M.Rankin, but my profile is J.M Rankin (no period after the M). I've tried following the link above and then the 'not you' link but I can't select my profile. Can this please be changed so I can gain my author profile?

No, it's not. It follows GR policy on author names: http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/60...

You should still be able to claim the profile, even without a perfect match.
