Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments Today is 3/3/09. Square root day.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-11386_3-101...

Are you aware of numbers like this? Do you have a "lucky" number or do certain numbers skeeve you out?

(by the way, I thought the movie The Number 23 was clever and it made me realize that you could fabricate a lot of theories from a few numbers)

message 2: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Somehow I just knew today was special. Thanks, Kevin.

I think it would be closer to 31.61

message 5: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I would assume the square root of all evil is 25.807

I like to play with numbers. I always try to find something good in my upcoming age: the last time I'll be a cubed number until I'm 64, etc. I have a friend who needed reassuring when he turned 37 and I pointed out that it was a prime number, so clearly he was in his prime.

You're right, I was thinking 999, but it is 666.

Does that make me an upside down dyslexic?

message 7: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) Thirteen's my lucky number. Or at least that's what I have stood by since I heard that in a Social Distortion song when I was about 19.

You're probably standing on your head again.

Oh thanks Larry, I was wondering why my arms were getting tired.

message 12: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments The meaning of life is the square root of all evil? That's deep... also, that would make all evil= 1764.
Just for the record.

message 13: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yeah, well ... there you have it.

message 14: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Ooh...so that must make the girl from Kaya An American Girl 1764 the Devil. I knew those cheesy looking books must be secretly subversive.

message 15: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It all comes out, doesn't it?

message 16: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Woohoo 16 posts!...and now I've ruined it.

message 17: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Nice going, Dave. Sheesh.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yeah well i just made the 37 up. no scientific basis at all. i'm a reader not a mathologist. geesh

message 21: by Lori (new)

Lori Since HS, I have never needed to deal with square roots.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Lori wrote: "Since HS, I have never needed to deal with square roots."

Yeah! What are they trying to pull, making us learn stuff that we'll never use?

message 23: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments like climbing a rope in gym class?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Exactly, Kevin! That's just evil!

message 25: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments ARgh. I hated that rope. Never made it to the top.

I am also a fan of March 4th, the only date that is also an imperative.

Hahahaha, you're right!!! That's funny, Sarah Pi! Oh, hey, it's YOUR day in a couple of Saturdays. We'll have to celebrate!

Well, anytime there's moonlight, Kevin.

Sarah (songgirl7) I always liked that my birthdate was 6/7/78 because I felt like it was kind of like 6-7-8. I don't know, it just appeals to my OCD need for order.

Hey, is that a crack about the local witchies? I may have to be offended... although, the Druid chants are sooo boring. Nine Inch Nails or perhaps Vast are much more fun to do that with. ;)

Sarah, Jared's bday is 6/8/70 so you guys must have good vibes. Mine is 8/6/70, so our numerical complimentary opposition is pretty cool. Well... it sounds cool.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I may have mentioned this before...my wife's birthday is 3/21, the spring solstice, and my birthday is 9/23, right at the fall solstice. Apparently that's a good thing, astrologically...

message 34: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Yup... a Yin/Yang thing. Cool.

message 35: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments witches? which witch? nope, no crack. not talking about witches (who are all made of wood i might add)

sherrie - what about Puscifer?

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Your wife has a great birthday RA! She must be extremely good looking and super intelligent like everyone else born on that day.

Minor technicality: It's the vernal equinox (spring), summer solstice (summer), autumnal equinox (fall), and winter solstice (um ... winter).

message 38: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Oh, shit, you're right, sorry, Larry. I f--k that up every single time.

message 39: by RandomAnthony (new)

Not that we're on the astrology road, but:
Sweeter's birthday is Nov 21. His birthday is within three weeks of every other love I've ever had in my entire life. Except for a Pieces that broke my heart.

message 41: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Those damned Pisces!

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Slap him with a trout Sally.

message 43: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I love the word autumnal. I used it once in my last office and I had to then provide proof to several people that it was a real word.

Some people scare me.

message 44: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Well Kev, I haven't heard Puscifer myself... but since it seems to be the work of Keenan, it would prolly work in a pinch. Maybe only during the dark moon.
