Les Miserables - Adaptations and Abridgements

Can please somebody more proficient with adaptation and abridgement issues handle this problem with Les Misérables? Seems like every possible edition was combined into this one - for Young Readers (Les Miserables, Story of the World 8: Les Miserables), Editions Abrégés (from 1200 pages to 300 - which isn't quite a little; Misérables, Les Miserables), Hachette for French Learners (very short adaptations, Les Miserables), Penguin Readers (Les Miserables: Penguin Readers, Level 6) etc. Even books that are actually belonging to the first tome of the work, although also very heavily abridged (Les Miserables, French version). Those two I do not even think are abridgements, but retellings from the same author: The Complete Book of Les Misérables and The Complete Book of Les Misérables. I didn't go through all 500+ editions. In some cases maybe I am mistaken, so I do not dare to touch it. I would really like somebody checks this book and make proper adjustments. Thank you!
