Snow (kdskid007) Hey! My name's Heather, and I'm kinda nutty. Or maybe I'll seem "normal" here. Ah well ^^ Anyway, I'm going to set a page count, not a word count, since I tend to write in red pen at school, on paper. And I'm too lazy to count the words or type up my written stuff. You guys might be able to bug me into typing it up on the weekends though, if I'm homework-free. Funny thought there. Anyway, I'm going to try for one page front and back. Unless it's my little notebook, then I'll go for 3 front and back.

Edit: Oops, forgot this:
Start: March 2, 2009

message 2: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) I keep forgetting things.... for example: I go by Snow, generally. And I'm a space cadette of the highest rank. Hey, does anyone have some ideas to get past writers block? i always seem to get it around page 8...

message 3: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments Hi Snow! Welcome!

Try writing a random descriptive paragraph. Talk about the room around you. Then go back to what you were writing before and just write. This can help get the juices flowing.

For more help, maybe join the group, "The Inspiration Room." I made it, and the whole point is to fight off writer's block.

message 4: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) thanks! my main problem is that i have no idea where to take my story after a point (normally pg 8 or so), so i'll try the descriptive attack ^^

message 5: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments :) Okay, if that doesn't work than you should try to answer as many questions as you can think of about your characters and plot. The more you know about those things, the easier it is to write.

message 6: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments Welcome Snow!!! =D Yep, I'm sure you'll fit right in with the rest of us! I belong to two writer's block groups, The Inspiration Room and The Writer's Block Battering Ram. You may want to consider joining one or both of those. Just play around with your characters. Try to see how they'd react in a certain situation. Often that can spark ideas and help the story from being dry and "plot driven".

message 7: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) lol, had a feeling i'd fit in wonderfully here. thanks for the suggestions against writer's block! in my main story right now, i just killed the main character's mom and am having difficulty getting her over it. but i DID get past pg on that one ^^

message 8: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) Yet another thing this space cadette is putting towards her advancement:
I'm gonna do the March Write-A-Thon, so check in every so often to see how far I get! I'm shooting for... *does math* 45-135 pages in March. I'm going to count all my writing, as long as it's a full side. Except homework, unless it's a story, because homework isn't creative at all. Think I should count an essay I have to write for the ACT next week? I'll think about it... Anyway, I'm searching for my muse... I'm not sure where he got to... I'll have to check between the couch cushions. ^^ Fredrick William likes hide-and-seek some days, unfortunately for me ^^ btw, his name is pronounce Free-drick Vil-helm, for those of you who were pronouncing it wrong ^^ (history class gives me some funny names, if nothing else)

message 9: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) k, i found some pictures of my muses guys!
Fredrick William:

and Geraldine:

Those are my muses. Watch out for both of them, cause they can bite. I told them not to, unless they're biting my writer's block ^^ and SOME of my writing reflects their violence ^^ Fredrick's the one you need to watch though. He doesn't hv Geraldine's sweet disposition.

Hey Snow,
Welcome to the group!

Love your muses.

Rather ironic that they are deadly ememies. Must be a fun place within your imagination.

Reminds me the last scenes in the movie "Alexander." Where the hawk soars into the heavens with the snake in its talons. The snake bites the hawk and both fall to their death!

Oh, and thanks so much for the link to Pandora...listening to my new music station right now :)

HI HEATHER!!! Tee-hee. Now I know another person outside of the group and in it. :)

I see you're getting along well here already, that's good.

Your muses are cool. I LOVE the hawk. He's SO pretty.

message 12: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) lol Kenzie, Geraldine's a female. But I won't tell her you said that. My muses were rather busy today, and I'm nearly at my writing goal for the day. And Dee, it can get rather scary in my imagination sometimes. I didn't even think about them being enemies, but they get along okay. And I think Fredrick is trying to learn to fly. *shrugs* Whatever floats his... floatation device XD

*Kit walks in w/o Ally*

message 14: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) uh... hi Kit. Where's Ally? *glances at notebook* I need to write more... my muses are bombarding me w/ ideas now after a day of near silence XD

message 15: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments I need to write too!

*likes Geraldine, but isn't sure about Fredrick* Did you say he was m-missing? *shakes* *notices little fairy beside her shaking so hard that she's causing a pill of fairy dust* It's okay, Chrissy, maybe he's a good snake. (Fairies and snakes are not the best of friends).

message 16: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) Fredrick WAS missing. He was in the couch. ^^ And don't worry, he's a very good snake. He listens rather well. And now he and Geraldine are outside. I THINK he's getting flying lessons. Lol, can you imagine a snake flying around through the air? Nevermind. We're all authors here, so of COURSE we can ^^

message 17: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments *sigh* LOL! Snakes flying...*thinks*...perhaps some fairy dust could help him out?

message 18: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) Maybe... But he IS a Muse, afterall... *goes to look out window* Well, he's in the air on his own... and doesn't appear to be falling... *grins* I think we have out first flying snake ladies and gentlemen! XD As long as they don't desert me, I'll be good ^^ writing w/o a muse is near impossible... lol

message 19: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments YAY! =D

Fly=falling with style.

Whoops. *mouths* "Sorry Geraldine." *grins*

message 22: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) *grins back* She and Fredrick were busy today! I'm on the... 5th page of my story that I thought of yesterday ^^ And it's stopped till bout 9 or so tonight... Cuz of the computer ^^ And so far, the two people who've read it both like it! It's still in red pen though... I don't like typing up what I've typed... goes too slow for my liking. And of course my muses are frenemies! I wouldn't let them kill each other... That'd be bad.

message 23: by Snow (new)

Snow (kdskid007) so, today i was writing like mad and got... *goes to check* 3 pgs! im up to nine pages total on... don't have a title for it yet... Maybe I'll call it "Ghosts from the Past" yep, i like that! whoo! hey, question: if i'm writing a book and planning to publish it, am i allowed to reference the book of another author in it? like, just slip the title of the book in? cuz i did that for Ghosts, and i wasnt sure if i'd b breaking any copyright laws if/wen i get it published if the title is in there.

LOL, Heather. That sucks.

I did that once. The person next to me watched me with this "she's crazy!" expression on her face while I did so.
