Cool and interesting I havent heard of hte forcing it into a bottle or drowning it in salt water.
In this book I'm reading, silver WILL hurt them but, their skin heals itself.
Vampires have been said to be sort of like ghosts or evil spirits. They can also change shapes in some stories. I'm guesssing that is what they are like in that legend.

Drive a stake through its heart Yes, we've all heard this one. Some legends say it only freezes the vamp, while others say kill. Either way, it's a useful way to keep the vampires away.
Shooting with a silver bullet Don't anyone tell me this is wrong. While you might think of this as a werewolf's death, it can prove pretty useful. Just plan on spending some money, because it can get pretty expensive.
Getting it into the sun As legend (or legends) goes, if you keep a vampire busy, and it stays in the sun, it will shrivel up like a raisen and die. Or turn into dust. Or blah blah blah. The point is, it works.
Decapitate it Cut off its head. If you want a good example, watch Moonlight. Some vampire is always gets its head cut off or burned... anyway! The point is, if you remove the head it is useless.
Burning it Once again, Moonlight. In many legends this is used. But remember, in a lot of legends, if blood is dropped on it, it will come back alive.
(This is used in many, many, many, legends, not only with burning.)
Drowning it in salt water I've never heard of this one, sorry. But it must be in a few legends.
Forcing it into a bottle, than burn it I guess it has to be a pretty big bottle, or small vampire, but it apearantly works.
Please remember that is some legends, the vampire really can't die!
More later.
