Sky Good book, a little difficult to follow. I am so excited to go and see the movie!

Kat I loved the movie its amazing, but only if you like long films!

Christina Read the book a few years ago now, and then the three Ring books. The movie is really terrific and you really get a sense of the book in it. The books have quite a few passages of 'song' or maybe it's 'saga' in them, but if you don't have the patience to read all of them (and they can be pretty long)the books work just as well if you skip them. I love all the magical characters. I like the elves best and the beautiful Elven Kingdom. Can't wait for the next film!

Kay The film is magical, adored every second!!!!

Hayley Stewart The book was beautiful, first read it as a child and then again this year in preparation for the film and I can say I was NOT disappointed by the film!
I loved the sagas and songs but never knew how they would go to music (not musically inclined at all) so hearing the dwarves song was amazing for me :)

Nurlely The movie is awesome!!! I want to watch it again!

Me too! Before we were out of the theaters I wanted to watch it again D: But now we have to wait for the next one! :U
But yeah, it was epic - I loved it :3 Bilbo and Gollum were brilliant .

Leo This book is just great. As usual, Tolkien is the best author ever. Wanna see the movie ASAP!!

Diana I watched the movie and I LOVED it. Tolkien is so the best author ever. Can't wait for the second and third movie. :D

Leo Does the movie attaches to the book??

Diana Leo wrote: "Does the movie attaches to the book??"

Yeah it does, but peter jackson does put his own thing into it so its not exactly like the book. Other than some scene's the movie is pretty acurate and its freaking good so I definitly recommend watching it. Also its only the first part of the book, the book is split into 3 movies.

Diana Gollum: If it loses we eats it whole, precious.
Bilbo: Fair enough.

Loved that scene. :)

xD It goes ...

Bilbo Baggins: Why don't we have a game of riddles? Just you and me. If I win, you show me the way out.
Gollum: And if he looses? What then? Well, if he looses, precious, then we eats it! If Baggins looses, we eats it whole!
Bilbo Baggins: [shocked silence] Fair enough.

:U I felt so bad for Bilbo xD. But that was one of my fave scenes too :3

Moon flower I loved this book! Couldn't put it down and never have since I read it a couple of years ago. Hope the movie is as good as the rest of the series' movies have been!:)

Nyaore I think the movie is at it's best if you go in not expecting it to completely adhere to the book. Some changes are necessary when making the transition from book to movie, and to preserve the established tone the director was trying to go for.
That said, the movie is amazing. I loved almost every second of it, with the exception of one of the Goblin King's lines. Well worth the wait.

Michael Loved the movie. The Erebor scenes and Moria battles were amazing. Exceeded my expectations, and I found it darker/more violent than expected especially with people saying it was lighter-toned. Obviously there were funny moments but still some scary moments, like the Necromancer in Dol Gildur.

Kurt I was so skeptical at first when I heard there was going to be three parts made for such a short book. The first thing I thought was that Peter Jackson was going to ruin the whole story by adding a plethora of needless garbage just to make this an epic trilogy to relive his LOTR masterpieces. So, with that said, I saw the movie... And I was completely blown away! A few things have changed, as they usually do in all book-to-movie adaptations, but the story and the magic is still there! Just like the book, Peter Jackson did a wonderful job with giving it a lighter element.
I do think, however, that a 3 hour put-your-butt-to-sleep movie is a tad too much, but that's just in the typical Peter Jackson style, and I was ready for that.
All in all, it was not a let-down and I can't wait for part 2 next year!
