Did you think Dumbledore would be alive in this?

After I read the scene of Snape killing him, and Dumbledore saying 'Severus please' I thought the stlory would be that it would be a trick between Snape and Dumbledore, to make D. seem dead, so that he could be more active against the Death Eaters.
Did anybody else think this?

We did. We spent WEEKS trying to figure out how it was a trick. We even expected him to come back like Gandalf the White. Seriously.
