The Host question

I love this book. The cover is what caught my eye the first time I saw it in store. Now it is one of my must read once a year books.

I watched the trailer a couple weeks ago as well, I can't wait! The book started off a little slow but picked right up and holy smokes what an ending! I loved it =)

I'm so excited for the movie! I loved the book.

i read it but i thought it was a bit too long sometimes.
I'm very excited for the movie but i don't think it will be close to the book like with the conflict between melany and wandler. But I really hope it will be a good one!

I did read it shortly after it came out while the 2nd or 3rd Twightlight book came out. I loved it. If I remember correctly both points or view were told. I am hoping a sequel will come out eventually.

I'm curious as to how they are going to let the audience in on what Melanie and Wanda are saying to each other. There is a lot of dialogue between them that could lose a person in the movie if you aren't privy to that information.

I thought it was a great book. I worry they are going to mess it up. How are they going to present the the aliens talking to the host, as Wanda did with Melanie? I don't care how boring it would seem to some, but to me most movies could be better if they followed the books closer.

I adored this book which I read immediately after reading the Twilight series. In my opinion it excels the Twilight book. It's a really unique idea which played out really well, although I do have a slight reservation about the way the ending was written.

I read the book and I totally loved it, I read it over every 3 months or something.
In one way, I'm exited for the movie, I want to see how the people made it. But in the other way, I don't want to see it because I'm afraid it will ruin the book and the story. Because that happened with other books too.

The actress that's going to play Melanie/Wanderer is from The Lovely Bones. She's not that attractive..

I read it, absolutely Adored it, and am super excited to see the movie! :) I love the cast, even though they were not what I originally pictured, I like the actors.

I was just like Somi, wanted to read anything by Meyers after twilight and was very unsure of the Host, but I loved it, I think I like the storyline better than twilight, yes I know that's sacrilegious, but true. I can't wait for the movie- the trailer looked good, but then I saw that Jensen Ackles was no longer involved with it (if he ever was?) I just saw him on some of the mockup posters . It was confusing and disappointing bc he is awesome, so now I'm bummed that he's not in it, and probably the whole time I watch the movie, I will be thinking...Ackles would have done it better.

I just finished it about a week ago. I LOVED it! I couldnt put it down. After watching the trailer I cant wait to see it, but I can already tell its not going to be as good as the book, but are they ever?

One of the best books I ever read!

The Host was significantly better than Twilight. Someone else said this above and I agree: it's like it was written from a totally different author. A better author....

By the way, Melanie Stryder/Wanda/Wanderer is being played by Saoirse Ronan an Irish actress. And Jamie Stryder is being played by Bradley Steven Perry from Good Luck Charlie on Disney Channel.

I agree. This book is so much better than Twilight. It's like two different authors wrote it. A movie would be interesting to see bur nothing will ever beat the book.

I am excited for the movie, too! I was so hooked while reading it. I haven't seen Jamie on the trailer, though!

My daughter and I read it. It took us about three chapters to get into it, but then we were hooked. The Host is way better than her Twilight series (even though I did enjoy that). I hope there will be more in this series, and I can't wait for the movie.

I read the book and I loved it. It brings a differet scenario than most of the book I have read. I also listened the audiobook,long after I read the book and the lecturer does a great job, specially Jeb's voice. You should try it.

I started this book a few times and couldn't get into it at all. Finally, I forced myself to push past the chapter I'd always teetered off on, and I was absolutely HOOKED! I loved this entire book so much, especially because it was so different from Twilight. Don't get me wrong, I love Twilight, but it's just the worst when authors have on big hit and every book after that is basically the first plot but with differently named characters. I'm not too excited for the movie because they never live up to the books for me.

I didn't think I would like this book because I don't read much sci-fi / alien fiction but I found this book to be very enjoyable and entertaining. I'm a big Twilight fan myself so I really liked the romance element in The Host and I can't wait to see the film version!!

I love the book.... After reading the Twilight books I just wanted to read anything else written by Stephanie Meyers.... The Host was a pleasant surprise, much better than I expected it to be.

I watched the trailer for the movie on Youtube yesterday..... I cant wait.

Saorsie Ronan is playing Melanie, Max Irons is playing Jared.

And I am absolutely counting the days until it comes out. I've read the book twice, audiobook a few times...and I have a severe case of the bouncies just imagining seeing it on the big screen.
