Merlin laughs,'looks like you've already failed with this one Brayden' he says gesturing at Ivy, Merlin smiles at her 'a woman with taste i like it' he jokes.

'At home yeah, but you ain't getting any of that here Brayden, i now what your like' says Merlin with a shake of his head. Merlin looks at Ivy, 'some blokes are just that way Ivy, dont discount all of us, well..maybe discount Brayden'.

Merlin smiles at her gently and says 'The party should be good though Ivy, maybe you'll meet up with someone, a lot of the uni Colbie college lot come back for summer remember'

Merlin pretends to be offended 'dont tell me you fell for his charm Ivy, im hurt', Merlin winks.
Merlin looks over at Ivy and she looks uncomfortable, 'Don't make me have to kick your arse out of this place Brayden, be nice to the women populace of this bar alright' he smiles at Ivy, she is incredibly pretty.

Merlin gets his phone out and texts Kol, he's meant to be here for his shift soon. Maybe he's still with Belle, the thought makes Merlin's stomach twist so he pushes it away and says 'what are you two doing now anyway?'.
'Soon actually, when Kol comes he starts and i just have to do a bit of inventory before i go' answers Merlin.
Merlin notes the sarcasm and says 'oh, oh it is, you dont have ANY idea what your missing, you know what else is fun...carrying boxes of alcohol from the truck on my morning shifts'. Kol normally did more of that though strangely because he gets up at about 4 in the moring and goes running...or whatever.

Merlin grins 'ok then, i'll do it as soon as Kol gets here, you have to be here by six in the morning mind for that box lifting' he laughs at her expression.

Merlin is about to answer when Kol walks in, Merlin's face turns to ice and he says 'So you decided to come after all Night'. Kol simply raises an eyebrow and looks right into Merlins's eyes wihtout flinching, Merlin turned away. Kol's gaze always made him feel uneasy that way. Kol comes over and goes behind the bar. Kol glances at Ivy and nods politely, he says 'Im sorry Merlin, i forgot my book down at the wisha...beach', Merlin rolls his eyes, 'you and that bloody beach Night, you spend more time there than anywhere else, get some mates for christs sake', Kol doesnt answer just carries on. What infuriates Merlin is that Kol doesnt stay quiet out of shyness, he just doesnt seem to feel like its worth it. Merlin grits his teeth.
Kol says 'well I'm here now so whatever you want to do is fine Merlin', Kol looks curiously over at Ivy, Merlin says 'whatever Night', Kol knows Merlin calls him Night to remind him that just because they live together doesnt mean they are family, even after two years. Kol is still looking at Ivy slightly, wondering what shes like, and if he were to write something about her what would it be. A poem, a song, a story. Her eyes told a story, maybe a story through song, Kol's mind was already whirring with ideas, lyrics, words, her ocean eyes, depth and gravity "forever water clear/ my lovely colbie dear", he smiles at the thought and itches to get to his writing book and maybe his guitar too. Kol was a writer to the core, it hurt to not be able to write. Kol realised he'd been staring, Merlin is glaring at him. Kol averts his eyes and starts to wipe down the counter, his plain dark black tshirt stretching over his broad chest and shoulders. He was coming off strange again as he always did, it doesn't bother Kol, but it does bother Merlin.

Kol notices Ivy narrow her eyes, he knows she plays music, but he can't remember much else about her, at least not anything truly personal, except about her mum. Grief was different for everyone, living in a care home meant Kol knew this in all it's certainty. Kol never likes to think of his mothers death, the nightmares do that for him, the night Kol's mother was murdered is not something easily pushed from the mind. Kol can see Merlin still looking at him angrily out of the corner of his eye, Kol turns to look directly at Ivy, his naturally intense midnight blue gaze resting on her face, 'You play', it wasnt a question, he could hear her humming. "music in the sound we seek/never ending forever bleak/In ocean water rythm plays/until the end of the waves", the rough lyrics come into Kol's head to add to this new song based on the girl with ocean eyes in front of him.

Kol nods in understanding, 'I play too, i've never thought much about my voice, might as well sing anyway or whats the point', Kol can the see the light in her eyes, it makes him curious. Merlin snaps at Kol, 'Kol, leave her alone', Kol thinks about telling him to back off, but doesn't, he says simply 'Ok Merlin'.

Merlin shakes his head and gives Kol another look, Kol doesn't acknowledge it, 'Maybe, never really done crowds since i moved from Ireland'. Kol thinks about all the songs he's written since then, part of him would love to preform out in fornt of people, he never thought of himself as a prefomer, he's a writer and songs were just another form of doing so. Merlin looks over sharply and says 'Since when are you coming, beach parties aren't your usual thing', Kol shrugs 'never had a reason to go before'.
Kol thinks of Belle, Merlin is right, beach parties aren't his thing, back in Ireland he went to parties almost every night and they always ended badly, here he had the chance to start over. But he wanted to know Belle and if that meant going to summer parties then he'd do it, 'Belle' is all Kol says. Merlin stiffens noticeably.

Kol see's Ivy shake her head and Kol quirks an eyebrow but doesn't say anything. Merlin is still tense, he used to care for Belle, but he doesn't like her the same way anymore, but that doesn't mean he wants Kol anywhere near her. Merlin does truly think that Kol's dangerous, and Belle is a good person. Merlin says 'She's not your type either Night'.

Merlin looks down at the ground pushing his anger away, 'Im sorry Ivy, do you mind if i come with you? just for a bit' he says, feeling the need to get out and away from Kol. Kol merely raises an eyebrow and says 'The beach is the best place to be for that', he turns away and walks into the back to do some box moving.

Merlin smiles and grabs his dark blue jacket. He thinks about calling out to Kol but then decides against it. Merlin pulls on Ivy's hand until they are out the door.
