Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle sat behind the small desk of the bookstore, absorbed in her latest find: Alice in Zombieland.

Kol walks into the bookstore, he hadn't been in a few days and he wated to see if they had some more of Faulk's books around.

message 7: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle looked up sharply at the sound of the bell. Just another customer. She went back to her book.

Kol ran a hand through his dirty blonde hair, it fell slightly over his pebble grey eyes. Kol looked up and saw Belle, he knew of her, they had gone to the same sixth form college, the only school/college in the town. He remebers her because he had always been fascinated with her green eyes, he'd even wrote a song about them.

message 9: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle couldn't focus on the words in front of her: she felt someone staring. She looked up at the guy who had just walked in. She realized it was Kol and she smiled at him.

Kol nodded at Belle, he had neve been overly friendly, his time in care and his stint in teens prison had beaten the trusting nature out of him, sometimes literally. His lips turned up slightly however into a small smile, his eyes concealing all the bad memories. She has a kind smile.

message 11: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle tried not to feel so triumphant at almost making him smile. He was the guy who sat in the back of class silently.

Belle was the nice girl, he knew that from the way she talked to people. Kol had a knack for judging people's character and observing. It's what made him a good writer Grace was always saying. Kol doesn't know why he can write, he only knows why he loves it. Writing is the only time he can truly express everything and be himself.

message 13: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle asked Kol, "Looking for anything in particular?" She had a subtle southern accent from her hometown, Louisiana.

(( I'm changing that on her charrie thing. ))

(ok)

Kol looks up at her and walks closer, his stormy eyes taking in every detail of the girl in front of him. Kol notices her accent, his own Irish is strong in his voice when he says 'Just looking for some of Faulk's books, or Twains, but i can find it myself, looking around is the best part', his guard down only slightly.

message 15: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle nodded in agreement. She almost preferred the paper sanctuary of the tiny store to real life outside. "Good luck," she said. "I haven't gotten around to alphabetizing this week."

Kol allowes himself to smile, the book store is a mess and so is he, the thought makes him happy in a strange way, like he fit in somehow, 'I like things that are imperfect' he says with a nod.

message 17: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments "Careful," Belle said, nodding to the perilously high stacks of books. "One of those fell yesterday. On me."

message 18: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol can't help the burst of laughter that comes out, he turns to her and says 'Death by bookcase, now thats one to remember' his eyes hold amusment.

message 19: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle blushed and looked down. "Yep," she replied. "That's me: memorable."

Kol looked away, from her blush. He remebered seeing her once when he was out running. Kol liked to run at least once a day, either at sunset or sundown, it helped him clear his head and the excercise showed, Grace always commented on how much of a man he was turning into. Kol only has one goal in that respect, to be nothing like his father. Kol had seen Belle on the beach, sitting on a big rock with a book, the sun set had made her red hair look like wild fire and her green eyes had shone bright and alive. He had written something about it, maybe a poem he, wasn't sure.

message 21: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle looked at the concentration on Kol's face. "What are you thinking of?" she asked him.

'Wild eyes on the beach' he says suddenly, having no idea what compelled him not to lie like he would normally have done. He stres into those green eyes for a moment then turns away looking for books.

message 23: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle blinked in surprise. When he turned away she went back to her book.

Kol looks through for a long time until he finds Birdsong by Faulks, he pickes it out and takes it the counter, and Belle.

message 25: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle didn't look up until she finished her page. When she saw the book she asked, "That's all?"

message 26: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol chances a look up at her and meets her eyes head on, 'For now yes' he says, his naturally intense gaze takes in her interested face and the intelligent set of her mouth.

message 27: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle looked away from his gaze, embarrassed. "Seven dollars," she told him.

message 28: by B.L. (last edited Dec 15, 2012 04:56PM) (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol takes out his wallet and says 'Dollars?, you mean pounds yeah, i know Colbie is out of the way of the rest of England but it's not that far', he hands over the money.

message 29: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle shook her head to clear it. "Sorry," she said. "Just got back from Louisiana. Still in the US mind set." She smiled apologetically.

message 30: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol nods in understanding, 'i get it, im just lucky i guess being from Ireland, it's not that different' he replies.

message 31: by Halle (last edited Dec 15, 2012 05:01PM) (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments "You're from Ireland?" Belle asked. She handed him the book. "That sounds fascinating."

message 32: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol takes the book and says 'Im not sure about fascinating, but i did love Ireland, but Colbie is...special'.

message 33: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle laughed softly. "Colbie seems dull if you ask me," she said.

message 34: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol shakes his head, 'I love the beach, you have to be there at the right moments, there's something beautiful about this town, almost...mystical too', Kols says. Kol knows he probably sounds mad, but he had always sensed there was more to Colbie than just a small English town.

message 35: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle nodded. "That explains it, then," she said. "I'm only at the beach in the morning. And even then not often."

message 36: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol nods, 'you should try sunset, i like to run then, it makes me think of my problems washing away with the sun' he says, 'you know what they say about Colbie beach?'

message 37: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle shook her head, entirely interested. "What?"

message 38: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
'They say it's the beach of a thousand wishes, that if you make a wish on that beach, it'll come true' Kol says, he smiles slightly at her expression.

message 39: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle's eyes were quite wide at this point. "Have you made a wish?" she asked. She found the idea very sweet and romantic. A beach that could grant wishes; she'd read that book.

message 40: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol looks up from the book and answers 'I have nothing to wish for thats possible to come true yet, but i'll let you know if i ever do Belle', he isn't sure what made him say the last bit, but it felt right.

message 41: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments "If it's a magic beach," Belle said slowly, working it out, "then of course it would come true."

message 42: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
'Some things even magic can't change' says Kol darkly.

message 43: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle frowned. "Well if you insist on being stubborn." She dog-eared her own book and closed it. "Then you're right: it won't change." She grabbed her bag with her camera inside. "I have to go."

message 44: by B.L. (last edited Dec 15, 2012 06:01PM) (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol thinks of his mother, he rarely did these days, and that was purposely done. 'Right, you knows off by the north side of town, there's something amazing, worth taking a photo of if you can' he says. Kol glances one last time at Belle and heads out.

message 45: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle felt her bag go slack on her arm. How on earth did he know what she was going to do? It hardly mattered. She was obviously going to the north side of town.

message 46: by B.L. (last edited Dec 15, 2012 06:12PM) (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol headed for the beach, he was meant to be at work for 9, but he had plenty of time before that. He kept thinking about Belle, her eyes, he coudnt stop thinking about them, it was a strange feeling.

message 47: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle wandered around Colbie, obviously lost. She was directionally challenged, so finding the north part of town was shaping up to be difficult.

message 48: by B.L. (new)

B.L. Jones (bljonesbooks) | 3100 comments Mod
Kol walked throught the almost deserted streets by the beach, he could already smell the ocean, the salt in the air, it felt fresh to breath it in.

message 49: by Halle (new)

Halle (thepotterhead) | 160 comments Belle found herself in a completely unfamiliar place.
