Allie Sheets I am new to writing. I have been doing a self-study about writing books and I don't feel like it's helping me. I am trying to write my first book- I already have a plot in mind- but I don't know how to start writing. Also, tips, tricks, and things to look out for when writing would be really helpful!

You just have to make yourself start writing. Just let the words flow to start your story. Once you get going, you might be surprised at how the story comes together. Then, you can always go back and change or re-work the beginning to your liking when you start editing.

Victoria Pearson Imagine you are telling your friend everything that happens in your story. Take a deep mental breath and tell them "it was like this"...
It won't give you the strongest opening to start with but it will get the ball rolling, and you can sort out the beginning later :~)
