Definitely hard (or soft) cover. After a year, I still haven't fallen into using my Nook even though I have downloaded quite a few to read!
I love the feel of a good book. With my current read- The Twelve Tribes of Hattie, I have chosen to read this book with my new tablet. I am still not sure if I prefer digital or hardcover? I guess time will tell. -M.
OK - I just got an ipad. but haven't yet read anything. Maybe becasue my bookshelves are too overloaded as it is?
I'm still a bit old school and like to hold an 'actual' book, flip paper pages, etc. - though I did recently buy my girl a Nook. And I must say - it's pretty cool...
I can read either way but I prefer a book.
Much prefer a book. Like other readers, love to hold an actual book, flip between pages and so on. Plus, my library is pretty cool! :-)
E-reader :) My bf bought me a kindle for christmas and its so convenient and i can download Books in about 2seconds flat; no need to leave the house, cheaper than full price, AND not having to worry about clogging up space on the floor or bookshelves...simply genius!

So great, how large is your library now, Lynda?

Love the convenience factor of an e-reader too, Brandy. Have you downloaded "The Twelve Tribes of Hattie" yet?

The advancement in technology is note worthy and I understand that there are a lot of people who love books in "kbs" and "mb". I much rather prefer my book in the old conventional manner. There is something invariably soothing and romantic about sitting with a book. Being able to turn through the pages and caressing it and smelling the words and filling your sense. Yes, if not as good as, its quiet close to making love.
Hardcover definitely. But since i live in Iraq, I don't have access to every book I want. I can still find some in my university's library but I can't own it, they're only available for borrowing. So, unfortunately, most of the time I end up downloading them :/
Hardcover for me but sometimes it's easier to download books on my Kindle and start reading them right away.
I love reading on my tablet. The only drawback is not being able to share the book after reading it.
It doesn't matter I use both equally. Many boxes of books and 3 e readers. I would say I use them all about the same. Sometimes I like to have the hardcover for at home and my e reader for when I am n the go.

I have approx 1000 now, all genres, and combination of hard cover and paperbacks.
I like to read the hardcover but the price is important factor for me, if the price is close I will buy the hardcover. Sometimes I can not get the book here (KSA) or the price difference is big so I will get the Kindle version
Have had my Nook for a year now, and, although it is portable, I still love my reads in paper (HC or PB) or on CD.
Because I have a toddler, I adore the convenience of an e-book: only one hand needed. I relish the tactile experiences of hard copy when I have a few moments to myself.
I like both digital and hardcopy reading. I own 2 different ereaders, a tablet, and hundreds of "real books". It is kind of fun to go back and forth. But if I start a series on ereader I read the whole series on ereader, and visa versa. I do know that I read faster on ereader.
mess, I like that with my dreaded my fiddler does not lose my place by pulling out the book mark, something she thinks is fun.
I love my ereader and think its great that I can have all my favorite books at my fingertips. Plus I save a ton of shelf space and read much faster on it than when I read physical books :)
As a former elementary school librarian, I am old school, too. I much prefer a book and the opportunity to turn pages. Plus, I am fortunate enough to be able to read while I am on the "dreadmill" in the morning. I think it would be difficult to use an electronic reader while exercising. Having a good book to read is motivation to get the exercise going.
I was a hardcore Hardcover book lover who rarely purchased Paperback books. Now I mostly read books on my nook. Still, I love the smell and feel of Hardcover books. Sometimes, when I receive a hardcover book as a gift, I will purchase the Nook version. My Nook is usually easier to travel with.
Well, I read this book on my Nook, but I'm usually pretty interchangeable. I like the ability to take my book wherever I want with my e-reader, but I also enjoy the pleasure of physically turning the pages of an actual book.
Paperback, kindle, hardcover, in that order. Would really like to try out Audio for all the exercise, driving and walking the dog. Could be the next big thing for me!
