I think I'm ready for tomorrow's update. But, maybe I can squeeze in one more book...if I get off GRs and Pinterest! LOL![image error]

LOL!!
It is! We're doing great. I'm just worried because the "Total goal for all participants: 9,480 books"... is NOT set at 10,000 yet! Eep!
I'm confident we will make it though. A lot of people over take their original goal and I'm sure we will get more people joining in later during the year.
Last year I didn't move my target from 212 but I read 230 something books. it'll be around the same number this year
at the rate im going ill go over the 100 I said, plus im sure as the year goes by more ppl will come and join in :)
I've actually reduced my target since I started working but in the last week, I've found that I can have the kindle text-to-speech read to me on my way to work because I don't have any kids in the car, and at lunch I can read because I don't know too many people yet so no-one's bothering me if they see me with a book. Who would've thought working would give me more reading time? I think the fact that I can't get distracted by Goodreads also helps...
Jennifer~Princess Penguin~ wrote: "I understand getting distracted by GoodReads. It is happening more and more often to me :)"Ditto. I mean...I'm reading tons, it is just the threads. LOL!
I went like 20 books over my target last year too. But this year I have been consistently behind this year. My rl book club book was a 1079 pages of super tiny print on extra large trade sized pages. I still haven't caught up. But I've read at least 8,000 pages already this year.
Gonna try and read 75 books, even if they aren't romance. :P I hope to do it, but I have serious doubts.
I think he is waiting for the cache to catch up with the grand total...which should be in about 7 hours and 10 minutes.
Jennifer♔Princess Penguin♔ wrote: "That's one thing I cannot do...read 2 books at once :)"Nether....I don't know how ppl can do it!! I'm sure I would get ppl, plots and all sorts of other stuff mixed and everything would blend into one big confusing book!

I only get them jumbled if they are too similar - I can read a PNR and a mystery at the same time, but not 2 PNRs. I tried reading a Lords of the Underworld book and a Lords of Deliverance book at the same time. That didn't work out so well.
If they are different enough, I can read up to 4 books at a time.
LOL good point!! would have to be different ...yeah the Lords would be hard at the same time!! I still don't think I could do it, I get so into the book I'm reading I don't think I could switch. I can't even read different books while reading a series, I have to read all the series that's available, before I can move on.
That's exactly what I do , I'm reading a contemporary (ebook) and listening to a paranormal , so noway of confusing them. I'm reading a PB too but that's not a romance it's a tearjerker and there possibility of confusing that with anything else
I guess I never thought about comparing reading more than 1 book at a time to watching multiple tv show (I can do that :)
Jennie wrote: "LOL I almost want to challenge myself to do it now, I guess if it was a buddy read I could do it."Same here Jennie...but not with the book I'm currently reading because it is a buddy read book :)
I always want something at hand to read, so I use different type media. I usually have an audiobook on my iPod/Touch, a CD in my car, a paperback going, and one on my Kindle. I do notice I'm better at juggling them and getting though them faster is they are all different genre - or even sub-genre.
