How'd you do that???
I know, right? I can barely fit my cell phone in my (front) pocket, and I hate using the back pockets to keep stuff in.
In other news, did anyone else hear about Robin Williams's death? :(

I think it was partially because it was so unexpected. He wasn't old. He wasn't known for drug use or anything of that sort. People knew him as Mork and as the Genie and as Mrs. Doubtfire. "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin just came on Pandora. Ironic, huh? Even if it was the Broadway version.
Ah, I'm going to have to try that. Looks cool! :)

I agree. My friend actually texted me to tell me, and I was shocked. Is there an official cause of death yet?
Yes, physical stuff is awful in and of itself, but the mental stuff can be worse. The person often just isn't himself, which makes it worse on both him and his family because the family has to watch this person that they don't even know.

Yes, perfect for studying, but too bad you don't have lunch.

It's mainly so that people who aren't in the club get a chance to be exposed to the world of forensics and plus, team members get 90 minutes a day to practice.

Yep, we just have 2 days to do the homework. Its pretty nice because if you have other stuff to do one night, you can just bang out 2 daysof homework and have nothing to do the next day. Gym is just one of the classes, so we will have a 2 hour gym class every other day.

In the past, not very well. However, we're going to (hopefully) do better this year.

Really? What type of debate? Policy, I assume? I don't debate actually. I do the Speech part, and I am SOOOO excited for this season! I want to do a Humorous Interp and an Original Oratory and possibly a Duo.
Cool! Hope it goes well! And don't feel bad at all. Sports aren't everybody's cup of tea. I know that they sure aren't mine! :P

I actually helped out with my school's Freshman Orientation yesterday, and it was a lot of fun! I know it's scary and nervewracking, but I PROMISE that everything will be just fine! The teachers are there to help you and the upperclassmen aren't that scary. Most of them remember what it was like to be a freshman. :)

IT'S WONDERFUL!!!!! If you're into Broadway, I also recommend Newsies, Catch Me if You Can, and Phantom of the Opera.

I'm glad it went well! It'll get easier as the year goes on, and hopefully you can find some shortcuts and less busy halls/areas to walk to class in. If you're allowed to carry backpacks and if you don't have a lot of textbooks (and considering the fact that we've gone digital with most things, you probably won't), the whole locker situation shouldn't be too bad. I don't even have a locker and don't plan on renting one. There's no time for me to actually use it AND get to class on time, and I'm in a one-story school!

It's not that it's gigantic or anything...it was just built in the 60's as a much smaller school and then they had to expand it in very...strange ways. The hallways are too small for 1450 people. We have 5 minutes, and it's very doable if you actually WALK at a normal pace to class...you just don't have time for a locker.
YES!!!!! Like, seriously, I know you're "cool" or whatever and I'm not, but last time I checked, neither is detention...for either of us.
And then, of course, YOU'RE in trouble when you're late, regardless of the fact that it's a teacher. I honestly can't believe that school starts Monday...summer was too short.
Oh. My. Gosh!!!!! That was AMAZING! Love Nick Pitera! If you like acapella stuff, look up Straight No Chaser. They're awesome too!

Great! I'm glad! Tell me how it goes! It was really great, actually. The best first day in a looooong time. This semester is my easy semester: 3 electives, 2 AP classes. Next semester is going to be AWFUL: Honors Chemistry, 2 APs (same classes), Theatre, and Honors Pre-Cal. Theatre will be nice though. I actually met my AP Language teacher for the first time today (had APUSH yesterday). She is AWESOME! All of my classes (except for Speech and Debate) are fairly small too, so that's always a good thing. :)
It's both great and bad. Great because if you hate a class, you get out of it quicker. Bad because if you love a class, you only have it for one semester. Not to mention longer classes and a lot more material per day. But I like it. Glad you've gotten good teachers. They can make or break the class.
The past two years, they've been 90 minutes each, and 2nd period was 105 minutes because of homeroom. This year, they're 80 minutes each because of this new thing we're trying for lunch. 80 minutes in between 3rd and 4th period, divided into 2 40 minutes sections. One of those blocks, you eat lunch. The other 40 minutes, you get to pick what you do...club meetings, tutoring, games, homework/study time. We're starting that next week, so hopefully it'll go well.
Not a ton...some pretty sizable reading assignments, but nothing especially awful. That's one nice thing about the four blocks a day. Fewer classes usually equals less homework. How about you?
Setting things up is always simultaneously the best and THE WORST. The best because you aren't actually doing much (I know I sound lazy, and I probably am, but just for the record, I actually do do my homework and have high expectations for my schoolwork. :P), but the worst because, well, you're not doing much. It can make the class seem boring and longer and all that jazz. But as long as the homework's not overwhelming, that's good. :)
How's Math Team (Club?) going?
How's Math Team (Club?) going?
YES!!! I never know what to say because (especially in Honors classes) sometimes it's a lot of the same people, so they already know about me, etc. I hate them too.
My season starts in 2 weeks. I actually started blocking my piece last night, and it's going well...I'm so excited! :)

What makes you say you came across as an idiot? I highly doubt you did! My freshman English teacher made us write letters to our future selves. We get them back when we graduate.
