I feel like this guy might just be wasting his (or his parents) money, since tons of people want to actually go to college but cannot afford it, while this guy just slacks off and distracts others.

AHHH! That's not fun. I'm sorry! We just HAD to take it freshman year. We can elect to take "Advanced PE," but not many people do that.

message 15321: by Billy (new)

Billy | 195 comments At our school we need 2 years of PE if you pass all the fitness tests, 4 years if you don't pass. I'm glad I'm done PE because I really wouldn't want to do another 2 years of it...

message 15322: by ShilvaH (new)

ShilvaH And her books | 207 comments Since grade 1 until you graduate from highschool, P.E. will hunt you.
Though in our school 50% of your grade in P.E. would be your attendance. The other 50% is for exercises, projects and etc.

I enjoy P.E. most of the time, so i got no problem with it.

message 15323: by Billy (new)

Billy | 195 comments Our fitness tests are just the basic exercises, the mile, push ups, sit ups, pull ups, ect, with a standard for your age group you have to meet or exceed. I think there are 6 standards and you have to pass 5 of them in order to take only 2 years of PE. However if you can't pass 5 or more, you are stuck in PE for all 4 years.

message 15324: by Evan (new)

Evan (sampsom) | 578 comments We had P.E up till year eleven but then it became an option to take and it was both class work (the biology behind things) and practical work and from what my friends who took it said it was really difficult in places! still had Games throughout my whole time at school. I don't miss P.E but I do miss the Games (Team sports, e.g Hockey or Cricket)

Square dancing is weirdly fun. I haven't done it in, like, 4 or 5 years, but it was really pretty enjoyable. And that is weird...

So, how much longer do you have before school starts (if I haven't already asked you that :P)?

I don't know what your high school will be like, but in my case, middle school PE was taken WAAAAAAY more seriously than high school PE. Since we were just taking it because it was required and not really an "elective," (not that it was in middle school either) the coach was a lot more laid-back and lenient.

Leah (lepolk) | 3478 comments Mod
I don't know why I haven't thought to tell you that. In fact, I almost miss high school PE sometimes because it was ridiculously easy and made the day seem shorter. But so is Theatre, and I prefer saying ridiculous tongue twisters to running any day. :)

Well, we didn't have to pass a swimming test or anything, so I can't really speak for that. In fact, I can't even really swim that well. But I understand your not wanting to wear swimwear. I hate it. It's so hard to find something cute AND modest (although, if you're into vintage cuts, I recommend Modcloth.com).

That doesn't seem too terribly awful. Hopefully they won't get too technical about it and will just let you swim the laps/distance required and be done with it...

At the moment, I am practically IN LOVE with this bathing suit:

Jansport. It's durable and they actually make cute backpacks that can fit all of your stuff in them. I'll admit that they can tend to be a little pricier than average, but it's worth it.

Of course! There are always glitches, and some people just don't have wonderful experiences with brands that people generally love. I actually bought my third Jansport today. Check landsend.com. I order clothes from there (especially swimwear) fairly regularly, and it's good. And I think I ordered a backpack a long time ago. The only thing is, as far as I know, there are no outlets, so you have to buy online.

What kinds of videos? That's cool that you're on the Math Team. Like Mu Alpha Theta?

Sorry for the delay in replying. So there are outlets!! Cool! L.L. Bean is also a really good brand, so you might look there again.

Algebra 2 in 8th grade?!? Is Geometry before or after Algebra 2 where you live? I took Algebra 1 in 8th, Geometry in 9th, and Algebra 2 last year. I've got Pre-Cal this year, so whoop-di-do. Anyway, that's great! But 40 videos is A LOT!! And don't worry about the comment length, H99!!! Hakuna Matata! :P

Anyone here have any advice for junior year of high school? I've heard it's supposedly the most stressful of the 4, and I've got 2 AP classes year round (we alternate days during 1 class period and have it all year as opposed to our usual block scheduling), 2 Honors classes, Theatre, Speech, NHS, and this almost...mentoring program where the juniors and seniors help the freshmen to get adjusted, show them around, etc., so I've got a pretty packed schedule, and I'm a bit nervous, so any advice anyone has would be appreciated. I'm not exactly what you would consider "good" at time management.

Thank you! I'm really bad about focusing too long on one thing too, and it's usually something that isn't important haha, but I'm definitely buying a planner this year! :)

Nope. We got them in middle school too, but I never really used them very well, but I didn't have anything really important to remember. Now I need it because, you know, stress. :)
