What do you use or do to help you keep track? I've heard of some people having their own private GR group, some people having a spreadsheet file on their phones that they take with them, and others use the Notes section on the GR bookshelves to sort the books by challenge.
What works for you? Share some ideas with us!

I don't think that's sad, I'm amazed that you don't lose your piece of paper!!

Good luck with it Shosho! It'll be interesting to see how you set it up to help you. I use my thread as my GR homepage.

I..."
Hahaha how well you know me to be amazed that I don't loose the paper :) I made a cover for my Kindle out of an old book and I keep all my challenge lists in it. I know I won't loose that.

I have a q , can I open 4 threads - yearly , monthly , completed and reading lists?
It would make it very convenient for me to manage my challenges!

A few more I agree , because I definitely will be using the same books for the yearly and monthly one , but I will like to try this out once , and if it dosent actually turn out to be convenient , I could just copy paste all into one thread , right :)

I'm a little bit addicted to challenges, but keeping track of them all can be a challenge in itself, lol
I'm very addicted to challenges and have joined so many for 2013 I don't know how I will complete even half :p

HAHA I know the feeling. I still have 12 books to read for this year's challenges. I don't know if I'll make it.
12 o.O you will have to read everyday then!

I have a thread I use to keep track as well but I'm always having to hunt for it. How do you set it up as your homepage? And I can't even say out loud how many challenges I've signed up for in 2013. If my family knew they would commit me LOL!!
Then I guess it has to be pick and choose , I don't think reading would be possible between Christmas preparations !!

I don't either. I actually flounced the one I was reading yesterday (and the day before LOL). I was having such a hard time getting into it. I read about 45% and counted it anyway LOL

1. Open the page you want to set as your homepage.
2. Click on the Customise button at the right hand top of your screen. Looks like this:

3. Click on Settings. This should open up a new tab but keep your challenge thread page open.
4. The second option down on that page says "On startup". Click on the third radio button down that says "Open a specific page or set of pages. Set pages"
5. Click on the words Set pages link as above.
6. Copy and paste the URL of your challenge thread into that box that opens up. mine looks like this: (right click the image below and choose Open Image in New Tab or Inspect Element to see the bigger size

7. Clkck OK and you're set. Now next time you go to open up a new browser window, your challenge page will be one of the pages it opens up.
Hope that helps!

Every time I finish a book, or some weeks every couple of books I just go down the list and paste my completed book info in to any challenge it fits into. Every so often I copy and paste from my personal thread to the actual challenge thread.
To keep from losing my thread, every so often I'll copy and repaste my last post again and delete the first, causing GR to bump it back to the top.
Have you already started planning for next year? Are you involved in some yearly challenges that will carry over into 2013 and would like a central point to refer to? Feel free to add your own topic to this folder, especially for that purpose!
Don't know how to add to this folder? Check out our "GoodReads How To..." folder, under Add a New Topic to a Folder .
How you set it out is up to you. And please, don't feel restricted to challenges and reading goals only for this group. Make it relevant for you, and most of all, have fun! :-)
Here's hoping this will make the reading journey for next year just that little bit easier!
Happy Reading!
