Ruth :D

lol

There's a Books A Million nearby that I love going in, but I rarely have enough money to buy anything there. I just love walking around the bookshelves.

message 52: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) Wal-mart has cheaper books. But nobody knows about it. :( At leas that's good for me. :)

message 53: by Becky (new)

Becky (rrrjtl) | 81 comments I love Wal-mart pricing on books! I just wish they had a bigger selection.

message 54: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) Me too!

message 55: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Wal Mart's pricing is a lot nicer, but I still can't afford it at the moment :(
I have to settle with the library.

message 56: by Becky (new)

Becky (rrrjtl) | 81 comments I LOVE going to the library. I just don't get to go as often as I'd like :)

message 57: by Ruth (new)

Ruth There is nothing on earth funner than walking around bookshelves, smelling the smell of books...

message 58: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) Totally agree!! The only bookstore we have left in my city is a used bookstore, which is great for the prices if you can find the book you're looking for. The library is awesome too, though I do spend my time in the teen section, lol.

message 59: by Ruth (new)

Ruth yeah, I rarely venture out of that section.

message 60: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) i stay in the kids when i'm at the library. the people in the teens/adut scare me. so if i need a book from there i call and have then put it on hold.

message 61: by Ruth (new)

Ruth What kind of books are your favorite?

message 62: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) mostly books made into movie, but i realy like childrens books for some reason. Like if you pick one up randomly and read it, it just makes you think of how inicent little children are and how they belive all the stuff they read. hahaha that sounded dramatic :D

message 63: by Ruth (new)

Ruth No, I totally agree! Have you ever read A Series Of Unfortunate Events?

message 64: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) yes! i am on book 5. i want to see the movie.

message 65: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I adore those books!
The movie is really good.

message 66: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) does it do the book justice (or however you spell it)

message 67: by Ruth (new)

Ruth There's a couple things changed, but I think they did really good with the adaption.
However, I saw the movie about a year before I read the books, so I might be forgetting something.
It only does the first three.

message 68: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) well that sounds good. i will try to get it from the libray but i lost faith in then.

message 69: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Does your library not have a good selection?

message 70: by Sarah (last edited Dec 30, 2012 02:02PM) (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) I am mad at then because they gave away my book that was on hold. You know what book it was? The book we are reading next mounth! Now I have to wait for it to come in. Or I have to buy it, but I don't want that. GRRRRR!

message 71: by Ruth (new)

Ruth That's definately cause to be angry. I hate it when libraries do that.

message 72: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) I think it might be more of the computer's fault now that I think of it.

message 73: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) really!

message 74: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) are you sure it's free? do you have to set up an acount?

message 75: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) will it keep my place like a bookmark?

message 76: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) i think i might buy it. computers destract me to much. but thanks for letting me know about it:)

message 77: by Sarah (new)

message 78: by Sarah (new)

message 79: by Sarah (new)

message 80: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) Hey guys! You want to know something stupid?

message 81: by Ruth (new)

Ruth sure, what is it?

message 82: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) I got the city of bones from the library YESTERDAY!!! I'm mad..... but just a little.

message 83: by Ruth (new)

Ruth why are you mad??

message 84: by Ruth (new)

Ruth OH!! duh! brain lapse :D

message 85: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) I have had it on hold for two months but they lost it. Now they found it at the end of the month.

message 86: by Ruth (new)

Ruth that rots. I guess you can read it now

message 87: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) But now I have a ton to read

message 88: by Ruth (new)

Ruth hmmmm

message 89: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) Yeah

message 90: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) It's a rather fast read... Especially if you get sucked into the story. If you can get sucked into it, you'll wind up finishing it before the end of the month. :) I think I devoured it in a matter of 2 days... and I'm a really slow reader. Where other's are on page 10-11 in five minutes, I'm still on page 4 or so. lol

I agree it's a super quick read. I think I the bigger part of it in a day or two. It may be long in number of pages but it's easy to understand and it's so exciting you just can't put it down =)
I have almost all of the discussion questions posted so when you're ready you can see what we're all talking about. I'm hoping to get the last batch done over the weekend.

message 92: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Is it better than Clockwork Angel?

I haven't read it but it's on my TBR. I just took a look at it's Goodreads page and it seems to me as though Clockwork Angel is kind of a prelude to the City of Bones series.

message 94: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) I can't read it now. I have other books I am reading instead so.... If I had it before the month was half way over I would have been able to read it! That's why I'm mad. But I will read it before I have to turn it in. I just have to finish my other books first.

message 95: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) Clockwork Angel is set in like 1800's England, but it's again about everything in TMI. I couldn't get into Clockwork Angel though. :/ But hopefully I'll pick it up again and actually get through it.

message 96: by Ruth (new)

Ruth I'm not getting that much into it. I mean, it's not the worst thing I've ever read, but then it's not the best either.

message 97: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) well I got Clockwork Prince for Christmas two years ago and I want to read it, but I just haven't been able to get through Clockwork Angel. I've heard great things about it, but it's just going to take me some time to get through it.

message 98: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) Okay, so has anyone else read Warm Bodies??? I decided to have it be my W read for my ABC Challenge. I'm already 23% into it. It's fast, rather funny and interesting. I absolutely HATE zombies, but I'm finding this one good and comical. I also want to see the movie, but hadn't thought about reading the book until yesterday. So, I picked it up and in 2 hours I've read to 23%, which is rather fast for me.

message 99: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) And because it just looks funny - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGRHrr...
