Thoughts on the book

I've recently revisited the first three Pern novels, and wondered what others had to think of the books. My mom introduced them to me when I was in Junior High, and my brother had all of the books published up to 1993.

Revisiting the books with maturer eyes, I found new depth in Anne Mccaffery's world building. However, I was frustrated by the amount of repetition of previous events (obviously why my young, flighty mind enjoyed them so much!), and wished there was more character building for Lessa and the others at Benden weyr.
