A small group of people were able to live much longer than normal, but were required to marry within the group of other people that had the genes to enable long life.

Btw, they weren't 'required' to, there were just financial incentives to do so. (but as an aside, there was no genetic testing, so I guess they were relying on people not diddling the system?)An aside, there are some gene complexes that predict (60% accuracy) whether you'll live to be 100
