Cat Gilliland While I absolutely loved and avidly read all 5 books, I became apprehensive toward the end of book 5 because I could not envision he coming to a conclusion for all the players for the Game of Thrones. And you know what, he didn't. Shame on you George R.R. Martin. You write a masterful, epic novel and leave it open ended. I can understand being exhausted, it was a long tough run, writing the book and screen play for HBO. So take a break, walk a bit within your own life but please - at some point go back and finish the series. Inquiring minds need to know. I am imaginative enough to come to my own conclusions but this is your work of art. I would like to see the remaining picture you paint with your words.

Tiffany There's supposed to be two more books coming out, although who knows when that will be. Supposedly, book 6 is coming out in 2014? Or there was some talk of 2013 but so far he has only written 400 pages - 200 of which are publishable. :/ I hate waiting.

Cat Gilliland I hate waiting too. It is an unfortunate hazard of living in an instant society. And admittedly, the first 5 books were written at a forced march pace; which is fine - if it flows from the artist that way but Mr. Martin had a contractual agreement I am sure with HBO who wanted to be able to turn out things in a seasonal variety. My greatest fear as far has the TV series goes is that HBO took too much "creative licensing." It was one of those thing that bothered Stephan King. I would nearly always read first, than watch the movie. Thanks for applying the voice of reason when I was having one of my "really?" Followed me for a moment of silence

The series isn't over and was never meant to be with this book. There are two more planned books coming, possibly three if that's what it takes.

Thanks Nicholas. I think I got so engrossed with reading the series, that I was just following the story line and following each character down what ever path Martin took us. It is not like I could have gone to the official website and seen that he had more books planned. And to be honest, while I generally read any series to it's natural conclusion, I have not enjoyed one has much as I enjoyed this. That and I had originally started the series from a 14 day hospital stay. So it was also a great distraction from dealing with my wellness issues. Whatever the reason, I have to give kudos's to Martin for a well written story. Looking forward to the next book.
