It's offline for maintenance right now. They may be working on that issue.
The message on the page right now says: "Atheist Census is offline as the result of a denial of service (DoS) attack."
Hey, the link still works! I just got counted! I found it hard to decide what I prefer to be called. I always used atheist, but that's defining us by what we aren't, not what we are... or Freethinker, but that sounds too vague to people who don't know what it means. So I chose "Rationalist." I'm curious about what others picked.
most of the hardcore atheists i met online were progressive humanists ... and our main concern is to reorganize humankind ...
I actually prefer the term atheist - someone without god, and I don't look at it as a negative! I have a belief; I belief there is/are not a god/gods. A term like rationalist doesn't pin down that belief. Anyone can be a rationalist - even a believer. The same goes for humanists. The first of which, were definitely believers. Even, a lot of people who say their non-religious believe in god. Agnostic doesn't know what to believe; so in my book they shouldn't even be counted in the census. As far as, a freethinker is concerned - free to think, what? Finally, there's secularist, which I deem more of an ethical stance than a belief. So there's my thoughts for what there worth.
