And incidentally I have just put your new blog into my Blogger reading list, so I'll be shown any new posts when I log on to blogger.com.

Thanks Mike. Word press looked better, but this is all of the back of my Google account, so was minimal hassle and not another login to remember
I am off the the London Book Fair tomorrow. First time I have ever been and I am really looking forward to it.
Been stressful here, my wife works for BHS... for at least a few more weeks that is. Been trying to find a new job but shops seem to be only employing under 25's so they don't have to pay staff £7.20 an hour.

And if no-one wants to pay anyone £7.20 an hour, how are their customers supposed to afford their goods?
Oh dear Jason. I hope that something turns up soon. They are a customer of my company, so there has been a lot of scrambling around trying to minimise stock etc.
She has been offered a zero-hour contract with cards direct but there's no guarantee of getting hours each week.
Yes, but there is one woman at cards direct who has taken full advantage of it. When she got the job she said she could work any hours, now she only agrees to work 9.30-1.45 mon-fri, term time only. Nothing the company can do about it. :-)
You could pay a lot of staff with the more than £400m Green has taken out of the company. Good luck to both of you.
Paul wrote: "I thought that he had taken out £1.3b?"Well, I guess the £400m were only his wife's salary. She probably worked really hard for it!
I think it was 900million and the rest was debts he had hidden.Rumours today an American company is interested, might be renamed AHS :-). wonder if they have been watching Selfridges.
Is there any chance she could keep her job if the company stays afloat in whatever form? Job uncertainty is dreadful, I feel for her.
If Green gets away with his actions it will be a travesty, but of course he probably will.

No chance of keeping her job as next have already got the next lease all wrapped up. The good news is the store is trading for another week, yay another weeks pay. :-)
I LOVE Half Price Books! Finally made a trip into the nearest HPB in the next town over and managed to find 4 books on my reading list that weren't available in my local library or on Overdrive. Three of the books were on the $1 clearance rack! So I got 4 books for under $10. I was so excited with my finds that I forgot to ask for my teacher discount! Still a boon!
Stuck in the middle of Dorset at a football tournament. Just wondering if the three books I bought with me will be enough
Happy Father's Day to all the Book Vipers Dads out there! My other half got booze/chocs etc - and a homemade card with pasta stuck on it, which I think is a rite of passage for all parents of small ones!
I got a book called 'The book of dad' custom made by the kids with lots of facts about me, dads and the year I was born.
I made my husband breakfast today for Father's day. My kid's got him a new spiderman T-shirt and tea. I'm going to bake my dad a cake and visit. : )
Oh you are all very good to your dads! Love "the book of dad" J, gorgeous!
We (well, me that is with the purse) are taking this Dad out for a couple of summer afternoon pints and a packet of his favourite crisps (!) and then we will have dinner at home all together. Nowt flash, but still nice.

Never really do anything for father's day, mostly at my insistence. So put a trellis up in the rain for Sarah to grow yet another plant up, and then barbecued in the drizzle...
After the appalling excuse that is our pathetic football team, we have some sporting success with Mark Cavendish getting his 28th Tour de France stage victor today
It was incredibly close Wendy
We have glimpsed the sum briefly this weekend, but we had the strangest clouds that I have ever seen over us yesterday:

It is a popular app just released in the US based on the children's video game and TV show Pokémon. You try and catch as many virtual Pokémon as you can on an app on your phone. The creatures appear at random in well populated areas. My kids were really into it years ago and once again now. The UK release is soon.
My middle son and his family are Pokemon fanatics. I was at his house just moments ago and he said, "There's a cattipie on the floor next to you." Huh? So he explains the Pokemon Go thing, takes a picture, calls me over and there's a cartoon character on his phone in his camera picture thingy. He "catches" the cattipie. So I have been exposed but still don't get it! Haha! The 4-yr old was thrilled.
I think it is the number 1 app in the US. The Washington Post has several amusing articles about this latest trend. Some not so funny results of people playing too.
If only my son pursued his homework as well as he does these Pokemons :-) We'd be talking Harvard, at least.
Just popping by to say a big hello and apologise for my prolonged absence over the last 8 months or so. Life has been pretty tough after leaving my partner and an absolute rollercoaster. Being a single Mum to 4 kids is no easy task. BUT, I'm coming out the other side now and am looking forward to being part of the group. I missed you all, and reading obvs. Had very little spare time at all. Here's to a summer of catchup reading and catching up with my BV friends. xxx
Paul wrote: "Welcome back Debbie"Thank you Paul, feels good to be back. I'm supposed to be sewing but it's too hot. So sipping a beer in the shade and trawling BV page, see what I've been missing sounds like a plan to me. :)
