I'm a-gonna lurk too. I love this book, it was my first JQ, and one of my first 5 historical romances ever back when I was about 14. Just re-read it not too long ago, so I'm not gonna read it again yet, but I'll lurk :D
It has been so long since I read it that I think I'll join in. If I can't dig it out of my boxes, I can always download it from the public library. (Drat! It isn't on audio!)
I'm in, it's been ages since I read this book and it'll be great to do a refresher before continuing with the series!
I'm gonna lurk too ! I just finished my last book in the series a few days ago ! I may re read this one !!
I was going to ask which bookcover you ladies liked the best, but...uh...hmmm...what is the duke doing again to Daphne against that tree up there in that in-set picture? Why does he have a grip on her dress like that?

I like the left one on the second row .It's cute

CaroB wrote: "Ummm... he's obviously being very helpful and holding it up for her, seeing as it seems to be falling down from the top. What a considerate duke he seems to be!"Yeah, right. He looks like he's staring right down that dress, too. Oh, wait! I get it. He's trying to cover up his arousal. LOL!
LMBO!!! I hadn't even thought of that!! And I thought I had the dirty mind!! You've got me beat Lisa!
The top right one was the one I had, lol. I kinda like the two drawn ones too, the pink one's cute in a funky sorta way, and the one with the orange-y dress is pretty. Though the outfit looks kinda more Edwardian than Regency to me.

The firs cover is my favorite - I love a stepback cover. This is such a fabulous series. I could definitely read them all again.

Yeah, right. He loo..."
LOl ! Too good Lisa !

I just picked this one up at a thrift store, I thought it would be good for those pesky challenges that need a Q author. I'll join in too.
I bought this book a few weeks ago because I've never read any Julia Quinn and I've read so many good reviews of her books on different websites. I was already looking forward to finding out what she's like, so am definitely in for this!
Man-oh-man! I don't know how long I tried last night...maybe 1/2 hour. But this morning I just spent 2 1/2 hours on the Kindle help forum and eventually on the phone to Kindle support (twice!) because my new computer would NOT recognize my Kindle via USB. I had all my ducks in a row, so it wasn't me. They even had me reset to factory settings. **sigh** Finally, one gentleman suggested trying
all
the ports. (Jeepers, wasn't three enough?) Sure enough, the forth one worked. Go figure.Anyway, I'm getting a new "Amazon Kindle PowerFast for Accelerated Charging (not included with device, for use with the new Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD models)" for free out of it...

Anyway, now to just get
on my Kindle.
Ive had that problem with a MP3 player, only one port would recognize it. So wierd. I need to get one of those chargers! My kids are always killing my battery.
ETA: I checked out the charger, might not be as awesome as the name suggests. For the Fire the original charger takes 4 hours that one takes 3. Cool enough if it were free, but not worth my $20.
Well, now it isn't being recognized by that port, either. Weird. Guess I need to trouble shoot it some more. Man! I didn't want to sit here at the computer and read the book, but I could have been half way through it by now. LOL!
Man-oh-man! I give up. They say the new USB cord will help, but it won't get here until tomorrow. So, I notice the book is on sale on Amazon for $1.99 , so I just bought it. Not worth this hassle, since I've been wanting to re-read it for days. Even went digging through my packed boxes of books in my garage. Which, of course, got me side-tracked...me being a book-lover and all.

Can there be any greater challenge to London's Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke? ~ Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1813
By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister, the lovely---and almost-on-the-shelf---Daphney Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth---it's all an elaborate plan to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.
But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a complete sham. Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her...but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke...for real! And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love...
