K.G. (kgjohnston) | 6 comments Hi everyone, I'm K.G. and I'm on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.

In fiction, it's a toss up between Carlos Castaneda's The Teachings of Don Juan and John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. Non-fiction wise, Peter Senge's Presence speaks to my hope for a transformation in our world's leaders, organizations and our collective future.

I love this site! To fellow aspiring authors, I'd be happy to review your book if you provide me with an advance copy.

message 2314: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Good afternoon, fellow bibliophiles! My name is Tiffany and I am a 40-year-old avid reader from Maryland. I read a variety of different topics and genres. For example, my recent check-outs are anything at all about New Orleans (I'm a tad bit obsessed, always have been), "Truly Madly Guilty" on audiobook (big fan of Liane Moriarty), Katey Sagal's memoir, a YA novel called "The Magnolia League" (not a huge YA fan but this one was pretty good), and slow-cooker cookbooks. Some topics from my personal library include Baltimore, Ireland, New Orleans, Jodi Picoult, Philippa Gregory, Nicholas Sparks, Laura Lippman, Kristin Hannah, Vikings, Joanne Fluke, Janet Evanovich, the Kennedys, anything mafia-related, and anything southern (Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Georgia, specifically). I am always looking for recommendations so feel free to tell me about your favorites. I'm glad to be here and I hope I can contribute to the fun!

Dust in My Pack is a new kind of travel book. It mixes travel narrative with practical travel tips and guidance covering places from Antarctica to Zimbabwe.

If you can't make it better, you can laugh at it.
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me' and

Sarena Delgado | 4 comments Hello everyone😁,

My name is Sarena and I'm from Southern California.
I'm admittedly a bibliophile, and can never seem to tame my veracity and hunger for knowledge or simply a new experience. I can't say that I have an all time favorite author, because in being aware that knowledge is ever expounding and there are many authors I have not yet read; I'm aware that I may have a new favorite or host of favorites in the near future. One of my current favorite authors right now is Paulo Coelho. I love pretty much all genres of literature and will delve into anything I can get my hands on.

Very nice to meet all of you, and I hope you have a wonderful day/evening.😊

Garance (bgarance) | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm Garance from Paris. I love reading many kinds of books but my favorites always tend up to be dramas with an historical or cultural background: so I can enjoy the ride while learning new elements along the way. The last great one I read was Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi. I heard her previous books are excellent too. I'm really looking forward exchanging book recommandations with you. I've always been curious about the Oprah book club and I hope it will open myself to new reading universes. I work in the movie industry in Paris by the way. I have also always been drawn to the book world and would like to open a bookstore one day. Very nice to meet you all.

Elizabeth Moldovan Hi everyone, my name is Elizabeth Moldovan and I live in Sydney, Australia. My favourite books are biographies and memoirs and I love "The Diary of Anne Frank". I am a lover of The Truth and seek to learn.
Remembering Anne Frank's courage, helped me overcome my deep fear of going public with my memoir which has been placed in prison, rehabs, na meetings libraries and also Harvard University Libraries. It is helping people who suffer to find Hope and Freedom.

Cassie Selleck (cdselleck) | 7 comments Hey y'all...I'm Cassie Selleck and I'm a native Floridian...though my roots are mostly in the Carolinas. I'm a former public library outreach coordinator and now a storyteller and the author of two works of Southern fiction. I live in rural North Florida on the Suwannee River, which is a great place to read or write. I love Southern women writers like Harper Lee, Flannery O'Connor, Lee Smith, Jan Karon and Sue Monk Kidd. Got super lucky with my first novel The Pecan Man, which was optioned as a movie and in the production stages now. I love Oprah's Book Club and have almost never been disappointed by her selections. Most are on my shelf to this day.

My mother loved Erma Bombeck! I do, too, but she was one of Mom's very faves. I lost my mom a year ago, and she had that same wry humor and sense of the absurdity of everyday life. Thanks for reminding me of Erma Bombeck! Must go dig through Mom's books and find some copies. Blessings...

Irene Baird (nirvana26uk) | 3 comments Hi Cassie I love Southern fiction, Fannie Flagg is my absolute favourite. (but I haven't read your books yet so that may change!) I seem to be as obsessed with Southern fiction as people in the USA are about Scotland. I'm of to look up "The Pecan Man" see if I would like it!! Look forward to more recommendations on southern fiction and getting to know you all a bit more.

Kind regards

Irene

Cassie Selleck (cdselleck) | 7 comments Hi, Irene...we Southerners DO have a rich Scottish and Irish history, especially in the area of the Smokey Mountains and Appalachians. My own ancestry includes a good portion of both. Fannie Flagg is another of my faves. I own all of her books in hardcover, which I only buy of the authors I truly love. Thanks for checking The Pecan Man out! Hope you enjoy. :-)
