Hi Dr. Shashank: If you like John Grisham, and perhaps books centered around the law, look up my novel, "Diminished Capacity," on Goodreads.com. It's a fictional courtroom drama based a real-life case of first degree sexual assault. The reviews so far on Goodreads are mostly excellent, and readers have given it a 4.32 out of 5 star rating.

message 2108: by Temple (new)

Temple Williams (temple_wms) | 2 comments Hi, my name is Temple Emmet Williams and I've been a writer all my life. I earned money as a journalist, copywriter, copy chief, creative director, art director, and editor. I worked at huge, famous ad agencies. I was an editor at the Reader's Digest. I never wrote a book until I got very sick, and the greatest medical system civilization has ever known tried to bury me. My memoir documented this with humor. More important, it turned me into a book writer. I am now working on my fourth book. Being an author is a tough gig. I admire anyone who does it. And I bless every reader who lets us bend to the task.

Vanessa (vguzman_satx) | 1 comments Hello! I'm Vanessa from San Antonio, TX. I used to read a lot and considered myself an avid reader until the need to read for classes got "in the way" of my personal reading. Now at home with my son and with more time on my hands I hope to get back into reading more like I used to and maybe instill the love of reading in my son as he grows. :) Looking forward to joining the group! Oh my favorite author would be John Grisham (trying to expand that to more favorites) and I just started reading, The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. On a mission to read all of the books on the OBC list!

message 2125: by Kecia (new)

Kecia | 1 comments Hi, I am Kecia from Idaho. I loved to read as a young adult. Having four children and a full-time job made it hard to read. Now that my children are grown and the last one getting ready to leave the nest I have more time to myself. I have started reading again. I have to admit to a love of trashy novels but also like to read the classics. I liked Oprah's previous book club selections and thought I would try it again.

WhatWarnerWrites | 3 comments I'm Warner. I am from Texas. I don't have a favorite author at this time... I am finding new ones all of the time. I enjoy a variety of genres but I tend to read more of adult fiction, mystery, poetry, inspirational, self-help/how-to, autobiographical, and biographical types of books. Since I have a great interest in writing children's short stories I also enjoy reading children's books as well as YA.

I belong to and participate in leadership roles in a few local writers groups in Texas. My aspiration is to become a published children's book author and I am working on my craft everyday. In the mean time, it is enjoyable discover new books and new people sharing the same interests with new ideas.

I'm Vicente, from Brazil.
My favorite book author is a Brazilian writer, Machado de Assis. Everyone who likes to read should try. I point out the books Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas and Dom Casmurro. In my humble opinion, these are the two best book every written in Portuguese language.
