message 2015: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cindylobis28) OK, I received ANOTHER disgusting photo from this newsfeed "Introduce Yourself" by deleted member. How are these getting through? I am finished with this group. I have tried to unsubscribe but I keep on receiving it. If you can't properly moderate the email you send me, I want no part of this. I don't want to look at a photo like that again, especially sent to me in an email. Please unsubscribe me from this group!

message 2019: by Bonbon (new)

Bonbon | 3 comments I am with all of you who are leaving this group. My goodness! What disgusting pictures! If I wanted pornography, I would go to such sites. How did it even get through on this site, more than once! That is the main reason, but also, I don't want to read people's views on the election. Enough of that is on t.v., newspapers, magazines, discussions with others........I expect discussion about BOOKS on Goodreads, especially Oprah's selections. Enough!!! It has sickened me, infuriated me, and it is time to stop it.

message 2020: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 55 comments WOW! I must be the only one not getting hose nasty posts. Thank God. I only do reviews and post my books I have read or are reading.
I think the site is trying to do their best to get rid of the trash.

The victim, patient, is a soul singer from the Motown era and there are lots of references to this period and musical genre. A Good Read!

Nick Knardirell | 6 comments Charlotte, NC. My favorite book from this year is by Colin Tate, Is This Your Man.

Instead of giving a one man fits all view into the world of men, it gives 6 different views from 6 different men. Colin helps women to weed out the wrong man from a sniff away! I read it in one sitting!!

I also have a crime, fiction novel out titled: Minnesota: Her Account; Her View. The central character is female Croatian crime boss Fuada Busticnam. She has led a double life as a crime boss and an upstanding citizen with civil duties but after 20 years she was apprehended and sent to prison by the FBI.

message 2043: by Tarek (last edited Nov 02, 2016 02:23PM) (new)

Tarek Refaat | 28 comments Hi everyone!

It's a pleasure to be here among the group
I'm a 36 year old Egyptian author living in Egypt, a father of 2 and I work in an American multinational technology company by day and well I transform into an author by night!

I've published 3 novels thus far, each a different experience to say the least.

"Ruptured" a novel published back in 2011 in Egypt with available kindle formats on Amazon

Ruptured by Tarek Refaat
Brief about Ruptured:
Ruptured is a novel that discusses Farida a rape victim who 18 months after her assailant has been put in prison, is struggling to get herself back on her feet among a society that deals with her as a diseased or an expired good product , we see her struggle as well as the views of the people around her"

Ribbons & Heels by Tarek Refaat

"Ribbons & Heels" , my 2nd book published in 2013

Brief about Ribbons & Heels :
"This novel takes you on a journey with four different ladies each with her own dilemma, Nadine who's really focused on independence that she loses track of what is being an independent woman? Sherine, a widow and a mother of three who lost her husband and comes to realize the emptiness she is feeling and torn between her feelings as a mother and a lonely person. Nahla she is the girl with the kind heart who always has stories because she ends up falling for the wrong guy, quite frequently. Iman is the one who more or less her life seems to be going the she wants to. You listen to their discussions , their thoughts and feelings and begin to go on an adventure in their lives"

My latest novel "Broken Shadows" published in April 2016 , which takes quite a different turn despite the fact that the protagonist is also a female but the genre is more of an action thriller spy story.

Broken Shadows by Tarek Refaat
Brief about "Broken Shadows"
"Heidi is an ex-operative who's been burnt by her organization and had fled the country 15 years ago. But what she left behind was more than just score to settle and reputation to redeem, she left a broken heart behind. Nadim a successful entrepreneur who started his own company who has spent his life avoiding commitment or engagement with any woman, all of a sudden comes to a frightening realization when he finds Heidi's resume on his desk ,applying for a job in his company! This triggers a whole set of events and takes you on an adventure with both of them engaged in it... What will happen ? How will it go?"

You could find out more about all 3 books from Amazon.com

I've also posted a giveaway for "Broken Shadows" for 10 copies PDF or eBook depends on what suits you best!! Here on the group in the General folder where it says Egyptian Author!

Also all books have some reviews on Amazon and goodreads , so if you are interested , drop me a line

Once again ! Honored to be here and meet you all !

Have a wonderful evening

Janet | 2 comments Hi my name is Janet and I live in Sydney, Australia. I love Opah's Book Club and am excited to discover this group on Goodreads. I cannot name one particular author that I enjoy. I have a list of authors that I enjoy. I must say that I go through phases. I become attached to characters and the authors of the book that I last read. This is particularly true when reading a series. At the moment Virginia Andrews is my favourite author as I reread the Flowers in the Attic Series.

message 2050: by RavensScar (new)
