I'm Manda and I'm currently from Anchorage, AK, though I grew up in Iowa, spent some time in South Dakota (grad school) and Alabama (3 year after grad school) on my way to The Last Frontier. I've been here for 2 years and love it. I don't think I'll be leaving here any time soon.

I have a lot of favorite authors, but I have a feeling that's pretty common among book worms. Some of the ones that are my standard go-tos are:

Stephen King
Neil Gaiman
Margaret Atwood
Maya Angelou
Joe Hill
Liane Moriarty
Gregory Maguire
Christopher Moore
Alice Walker

The sequel When Evil Calls Your Name explores domestic violence towards women, and is written in the first person. My latest book, Portraits of the Dead, a serial killer thriller, was published on the 1st of September. If anyone has any questions about any of the books, just let me know. message 1899: by Jacquie (new)

Jacquie | 2 comments Hi I'm Jacquie,

I'm in a number of book clubs -- I like the variety -- and am currently a co-host of the Toronto chapter for the Girly Book Club. I am new to the Oprah book club but over the last couple years have read a couple of her picks and look forward to being part of the group, to the great reads and just as importantly the exchanges within this forum.

I read mostly fiction (not romance) and love the occasional biography. I read most of my books but due to a really long commute have in the last 6 years also started listening to many of my books. For Love Warriors -- I have downloaded the audio-book version as I 'feel' I know the author better when they read/tell their story, in their own voice to me... We all have our quirks and that is mine! lol
