Danielle Gentilini | 3 comments Hello .. my name is Danielle and the last 4 years I've lived in AZ and now IA .. I am and always will be from NY. To pick a favorite author is something I could never do. I love all books and have been in avid reader since a very young age. My interests vary so much from what's popular at the moment to the classics. I find the most enjoyment reading historical fiction and the two books that I've read in the last few years that I haven't found a match to is Ken Folletts Pillars of the Earth and World without End. I love extrememely long books where I can be drawn into their world and not worry about it ending at pg 300 :) But if you look at my list of books you can see that I also am not picky. It bothers me that I only have 40+ books listed and I've read hundreds throughout my life. As I remember them I add them and hope to eventually finish the list. I'm very excited to join this bookclub and will pick up with the next book.

message 863: by Vicky (new)

Vicky Ashwell Hi, my name is Vicky, I'm from Bath, England. I have joined the Oprah bookclub to get different ideas on what to read. I'm a member of the UK bookclub and really enjoy the genre challenge as each month it really encourages me to expand my horizons.

I don't really have a current favourite author but have various favourite authors for different periods in my life. As a child it was Roald Dahl, then as a teenager I loved Judy Blume, I really enjoyed John Grisham, Bernard Cornwell and Jane Austin as a young adult. Now I am just experimenting and enjoy all sorts of books from all sorts of genres.

At the moment I am reading Uncle Tom's Cabin which I am loving, it took a while to get into the style of the book but now that I am there I am so pleased I persevered! Looking forward to chatting and getting more recomendations for amazing books!

I didn't realise but I have just sorted out my bookshelves and have found a copy of Beloved so am thinking of making it my next read. I'm currently reading Uncle Tom's Cabin and have read elsewhere that they are quite similar in tone...not sure about that but think I might give it a go next. I am reading it as part of the genre challenge for the UK Bookclub and this months genre is historical so it would fit nicely with that.

Angela (anjoyla) My name is Angela. I am reaching out from Southern Ohio it's in the United States.

My favorite book or author. This is a hard question for me because I have so many. I have to go with the following:

I love Jane Austen James Paterson,Janet Evanivich, Stephen King
I love Crochet Books
I love thrillers and fiction and non fiction books. biographies, spiritual books, philosphy, religion, fiction, comics you name it.

The love of books allows me to go to far off places, delve deep inside and reach my inner self to taking me places and seeing things through other perspectives. Books allows me to see and experience the world that I might not get to withint a few pages.
